Edu Manzano just broke the news that he is going to run as Vice-President for the administration. Could this be reason of their split?

If Edu is a joke, then why is ABS-CBN not laughing:
“Edu was their guy until… to think that Edu was one of this crowd’s favorites until that fateful day last week when he finally decided to say yes to Gibo. He was praised to high heavens and feted like the celebrity that he is when word came that he was to take his oath as an LP member and run as senator in the party’s ticket a few days before he finally decided otherwise. Our ABS-CBN sources tell us that even Kris Aquino, the peripatetic presidential wannabe’s sister and most effective campaign manager, had nothing but praises for Edu when she learned that he will end up with the Noynoy-Mar ticket after being rumored he was being courted by all the other parties. The heavyweight studio’s bosses seemed to agree, our sources say, to the extent that they wangled continuing exposure for Edu in their public affairs programs and in the events which the Lopez-owned conglomerate was supposed to have calendared as part of its holiday season-cum-campaign operations schedule for selected friends running for public office. So, Edu’s friends at the network were literally dumbfounded when he was immediately asked to take a leave after his surprise decision. Worse, even his rumored girl friend broadcaster Pinky Webb who has labored all her life with the broadcast network was asked to take a leave unless she “breaks up” with Manzano. I won’t be surprised if one of these days, even Edu’s son with Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos, Lucky, who has also stuck it out with the Lopezes will also be asked to “take a leave” until after the elections. And the civil society types do not see anything wrong with this kind of work out? They are now saying buti nga sa iyo to Edu and his friends but will tolerate even hail the continued out and out endorsements being issued out by their favorite stars and celebrities so long as they remain with the “promised ones?”
