Serena Williams beats Agnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 in a dramatic final Saturday to win the Wimbledon single title!
This is the 5th Wimbledon title of Serena and with this title she also became the first woman aged 30 or over to win the title since 33-year-old Martina Navratilova won the last of her nine singles titles in 1990.
Following her win, Serena turned to her family and friends, in particular dad Richard, mother Oracene, sister Venus and physiotherapist Esther Lee, and said: “I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
“I could never have done this without you when you were with me in the hospital. Thank you so much.”
Serena now has five Wimbledon titles, equaling sister Venus’ total.
Congratulations Serena!
