Meanwhile, “Rescue” also marks its second year by promoting a culture of preparedness among Filipinos. A disaster preparedness seminar was conducted in Barangay Matina Aplaya in Davao City, one of the communities badly hit by flooding in Davao last year. This seminar, spearheaded by “Rescue” host Arnold Clavio, was conducted in support of the Department of Health’s Disaster Preparedness Month.
Following the event in Davao, the entire team of “Rescue” is set to visit Dagupan City this Saturday, for another leg of its disaster preparedness seminar in Barangay Lasip Granda. Barangay Lasip Granda was one of the barangays in Dagupan that also experienced extreme flooding at the height ofthe flood spawned by Typhoon Mina on Aug. 29, 2011. From 8 to 11am, Clavio and the entire “Rescue” team will share major points on rescue, first aid, and life support procedures to the residents of the said barangay.
