MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino is out of the 20115 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “All You Need is Pag-ibig.”

The Queen of All Media has announced this through her Instagram account on Wednesday.

Kris said that she has accepted the project and was a “good sport” despite “a storyline that would lay bare all my insecurities- the treatment given to me had the harsh but realistic words: ‘Sya si Kris- ang babaeng laging di pinipili…’”

However, Kris added that when the cinematographer she requested couldn’t commit to the film due to “schedule conflicts,” she decided to back out of the film.

“His job was to hold a mirror to my heart & soul for you to see in our movie, and I knew I’d be in good hands… And it just couldn’t fall into place…” she explained.

“After all my track record of professionalism can’t be questioned,” she added.

Kris also said that her decision is a way of putting herself first, saying she has “earned” the right to say no.

“I’m doing what is best for me,” she said. “Simpleng alaga lang sana sa isang project w/ a pressure packed timeline… It just didn’t fall into place. And I know enough to prioritize taking care of me… That’s why I choose to walk away. And put myself first, not because I want to be difficult, but simply because I’ve earned the privilege to say NO w/ courage & dignity.”

Last week, Kris announced the changes made in the film: the inclusion of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim and its title change from “Mr. & Mrs. Split” to “All You Need is Pag-ibig.”

In another post, Kris apologized to Star Cinema chairperson Malou Santos, director Antoinette Jadaone and writer Kriz Gazmen.

“I’m sorry for the stress I put you through, the many wasted hours working on the project, and all the effort you exerted,” she said. “I was wrong to commit to something that in all honesty, I am emotionally, physically & mentally not ready for… #hiyanghiya #IAmSorry”

On the comments section of this post, Kris answered some of her followers’ questions.

Kris also clarified that she did not back out of the film because she’s threatened by the film entry “Pabebe Love” which stars Vic Sotto, Ai Ai delas Alas, and the “Kalyeserye” love team Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza.

Kris added she has already settled the issue with her bosses in private, and that she has already apologized to them for her Instagram rant.

“Magic Mike XXL” opens in PH theaters July 15!

The guys who wowed audiences around the world in the rousing hit “Magic Mike” are back. This time, they’re turning up the heat and taking it on the road in Warner Bros. Pictures’ new all-male romp “Magic Mike XXL” – with a revealing new story, a fresh perspective on the future and a bigger, bolder set of some of the hottest and most exciting dance moves ever captured on the big screen.

normal_Magic_Mike_XXL

“Magic Mike XXL” reunites original stars Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias.

Picking up the story three years after Mike (Tatum) bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, “Magic Mike XXL” finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them.

On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.

“Magic Mike XXL” director Gregory Jacobs echoes the sentiments of moviegoers around the world when he says, “I wanted to know what happened to these guys. I love these characters, and the possibility of following their story was something that really intrigued me, plus the aspect of Mike reclaiming his bond and his friendship with them, his realizing that he missed them and that they missed him, too. I felt it would be great to get the band back together and make a road trip movie.”
Though purely fictional, some of the elements and atmosphere of Mike’s world are inspired by Tatum’s own experiences from his early days as a dancer, and not all of it could be contained in one telling. “One of the things Channing originally brought up was his trip to a stripper convention back in the day,” says screenwriter Reid Carolin, who, along with Nick Wechsler, Jacobs and Tatum, also returns as a producer on the sequel. “We tried to work it into the first movie, but it’s such a big set piece that it was a story unto itself.”

As happy as the characters were to get the show on the road, so were the actors who portray them. “There was never a dull moment,” states Joe Manganiello, reprising his role as Big Dick Richie (BDR), alongside Matt Bomer as the picture-perfect Ken, Adam Rodriguez as Latin sensation Tito, Kevin Nash as wild-man Tarzan, and Gabriel Iglesias as their freewheeling MC, Tobias. “When we were cast in the first movie, none of us had a clue we would have this kind of chemistry, but it didn’t take long. There was some kind of providence in assembling this group. It just works. Greg has a great heart and I think that sensibility really lent itself to this script, which is essentially about bros bringing out the best in each other and having a good time.”

Consequently, while showcasing the tight group dynamic, “Magic Mike XXL” also plays up their individual personalities and talents to a greater extent. The cast also got the opportunity to demonstrate their comic timing, as the story takes them from a rowdy reunion in Tampa to some hilariously bumpy but rewarding detours through Savannah on their way to the big event.

Says Jacobs, “It’s Mike’s journey but it’s also a journey for all of them. We spent a lot of time fine-tuning and weaving each one into the story because it was important to all of us that the other characters were well developed and that everybody had his moment to break out and shine.”

Opening across the Philippines on July 15, “Magic Mike XXL” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment company.

Following its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, Reed Morano’s “Meadowland” has been acquired by Cinedigm for all North American distribution rights.

The film looks into the lives of a New York couple, played by Olivia Wilde and Luke Wilson, who suffer psychologically after a tragic loss. As they both try to deal with this emotional loss, they both lose sight of what’s important and find themselves in deeper trouble than they imagined.

“‘Meadowland’ is precisely the sort of compelling, filmmaker-driven and performance-driven work that makes independent film so exciting,” stated Cinedigm’s Yolanda Macias. “Wilde is electrifying and Wilson is heartbreaking in Morano’s remarkable debut. It is wonderful to be working with such a deeply talented team.”

The film is set for an October theatrical release.

Who was Sarah Geronimo referring to: “Kapag naramdaman mo na wala nang respeto sa’yo ‘yung tao, hiwalayan mo.”!

“Kapag naramdaman mo na wala nang respeto sa’yo ‘yung tao, hiwalayan mo.”

Thus said Sarah Geronimo as she reminisced about a past heartbreak during the press conference for the Star Cinema movie “The Breakup Playlist.”

The topic of former heartbreaks came up as members of the press asked on the similarities between Sarah and her character in the movie. In “The Breakup Playlist,” Sarah stars with Piolo Pascual as bandmates turned lovers who will later break up.

During the press conference, Sarah said music helped her heal from a past experience.

“Kasi part ng healing process ‘yan, e. ‘Yung alagaan mo ‘yung sakit until mawala,” she explained.

The singer-actress also believes that “bawat emosyon, kailangan mo pagdaanan, or else, mababaliw ka.”

Sarah didn’t specify who she was pertaining to when she talked about her past heartbreak. The ABS-CBN artist was linked in the past with actors Gerald Anderson and Rayver Cruz, whom she had a secret relationship with in 2010.

“The Breakup Playlist” is Sarah’s first movie with Piolo. She described the experience of working with the ABS-CBN actor as challenging yet fulfilling.

“Very challenging, hindi lang ‘yung pagtitig ko sa mga mata ni Piolo Pascual, pero very challenging din to play the role of the girlfriend ng isang Piolo Pascual sa pelikula. Kasi mature role na po itong ginagampanan ko, mature na ‘yung klase ng love story na meron kami, so naging challenging siya sa akin,” she enthused.

“Pero fulfilling kasi natapos namin nang maayos and hopefully ma-appreciate ng audience,” Sarah added.

“The Breakup Playlist” opens in theaters on July 1.
