Aiko Melendez is an old-maid raped victim in “Ipaglaban Mo”!

ABS-CBN’s hit legal drama anthology “Ipaglaban Mo” tackles the rape case of a spinster named Candida (Aiko Melendez), who was sexually abused by her younger suitor Popoy (Arron Villaflor) this Saturday (August 23).

Also joining the cast in this week’s episode titled “Sa Aking Pagbangon,” directed by Jon Villarin, are Lui Manansala and Deniesse Aguilar.

Aiko Melendez is back on the big screen via “Asintado”!

Aiko Melendez is back on the big screen in Cinemalaya’s “Asintado”!

The movie is set against the backdrop of the Taong Putik festival of the farming community of Bibiclat, Nueva Ecija, Asintado is about a mother of two (Julia, played by Aiko). When her older son (Jake Vargas) gets involved with a drug ring and botches a job, he brings down on himself and their town the wrath of drug ring boss Carias (Gabby Eigenmann). To escape Carias’s wrath, Julia is forced to turn to her autistic younger son (Miggs Cuaderno) who has an unimaginable talent as a skilled marksman who can shoot right between the eyes, hence the title of the film. The question is, does Julia risk her younger son’s safety and life to save the other?

Aiko Melendez is joined in the cast by Gabby Eigenmann, Miggs Cuaderno, Rochelle Pangilinan, Jake Vargas, Benjie Felipe, Madz Nicholas, Maita Ejercito, and Jak Roberto.

Aiko Melendez shoots down rumor of reconciling with Jomari Yllana!

Aiko Melendez is once again in the limelight amidst rumor that she and ex-husband Jomari Yllana have reconciled and are back into each others arms!

Aiko revealed that she has been single for the past five years and is still is. And that she has no sex life at all.

On how Aiko remains celibate:

“I’ve just been in love with Jesus Christ. I’ve just been baptized and I’m now a Christian.”

On why she remained single, has she became choosy:

 “Hindi naman pero, ang gusto ko ang next relationship ko is with someone whose life is centered on Christ. Kasi marami na akong mga bagong gagawin sa buhay ko ngayon na baka hindi maintindihan kasi hindi Kristiyano. Baka sabihin ang arte-arte, dalawa na ang mga anak bigla kang nagpapaka-long-hair dyan eh, baka hindi niya maintidihan ‘yun hanggang hindi siya Kristiyano.”

On his relationship with jomari:

“Kasi noong time na hindi kami okay, ‘yung child namin ang nagsa-suffer so, sabi namin we’re old enough for petty fights and we’re old enough to just mind our own feelings. Sabi ko set aside na lang namin.”

Aiko Melendez joins the cast of “Apoy sa Dagat”!

Award-winning actress Aiko Melendez will soon be part of the hot and compelling story of ABS-CBN’s top-rating primetime drama series “Apoy Sa Dagat.”

She will portray the character of Odessa, the mother of the twins Rebecca and Serena (Angelica Panganiban), initially played by Nikki Gil in the series’ well-acclaimed back story.

After 20 years, Odessa will return to the lives of the Del Sol family. Unlike before, she is now a stronger and more powerful woman who is determined to reclaim what were taken from her as the rightful wife of Alberto del Sol (Patrick Garcia) and the mother of daughter Rebecca.

How far will Odessa go in correcting her mistakes to her daughters? What will she do once she discovers that Rebecca has suffered in the hands of Adrianna (Angel Aquino), the woman who has been pretending to be Alberto’s wife? Aiko Melendez and Joey Marquez topbill the Christmas episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” this Saturday (December 22) as they portray the roles of husband and wife Persie and Cristy who loved each other so much that Persie accepted his wife’s past which involved having a son with her first husband.

Aiko Melendez on rekindling romance with Jomari Yllana: “Yung Jomari issue, not true na nagkabalikan kami.”!

 Aiko Melendez and Jomari Yllana are very close friends, as far as we can recall both were married and separated after three years and they share a son Andre.

In recent interview Aiko was asked if the possibility of rekindling their romance is seen in the future.

This is what Aiko said:

“Yung Jomari issue, not true na nagkabalikan kami. ‘Coz, although we are close, in a sense na we can talk about anything, but better if we leave it at that.”

So there you go guys, no romancing between the two now and in the future.
