‘The Princess and I’ Premieres on Monday

ABS-CBN’s newest and biggest royal teleserye “The Princess and I” will finally premiere on Primetime Bida this Monday (April 16) topbilled by its powerhouse cast Albert Martinez, Gretchen Barreto, Dominic Ochoa, Enrique Gil, Khalil Ramos, Daniel Padilla, and Kathryn Bernardo.

“Princess and I” will feature the story of how King Anand (Albert) and his daughter Princess Mikay (Kathryn) find their way back to each other’s arms after being separated by a tragic accident that changed their lives.

The newest teleserye is set to capture every Kapamilya’s heart with its grand preparation from its remarkable plot, to its marvelous costumes, up to its memorable scenes taken at the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Kathryn, Enrique, Precious Lara Quigaman, Gretchen, and Albert got geared up and went all the way to Bhutan last March to shoot different scenes for the series. The newest ‘Primetime Princess’ Kathryn even admitted that she became closer with her friend and co-star Enrique after getting to know the actor more in the South Asian kingdom.

Joining the cast are some of the respected names in the industry Yayo Aguila, Nina Dolino and Sharmaine Suarez. “Princess and I” is directed by Dado Lumibao and Francis Pasion.

‘The Princess and I’ premieres April 16 on ABS-CBN!

ABS-CBN’s newest and and biggest Primetime teleserye “The Princess and I” will finally premiere this April 16(Monday).

Topbilled by its royal cast award-winning actor and actress Albert Martinez and Gretchen Barreto; the three ‘Prince Charming of Primetime’ Enrique Gil, Khalil Ramos and Daniel Padilla;’ and the newest ‘Princess of Primetime’ Kathryn Bernardo.
“The Princess and I” opens the fairytale story of the Kingdom of Yangdon led by King Anand (Albert), where behind all the King’s wealth, power and title, is a saddening empty space in his heart that is yet-to-be filled by his long-lost daughter Princess Mikay (Kathryn), who will grow up in an unfortunate life not knowing of her real identity.
As Gretchen fiercely returns on television after her outstanding performance in the hit teleserye “Magkaribal,” she is now on her way to make a new trend as she takes on the role of a Yangdon royalty named Ashi Behati who greatly aspires to be the Queen of Yangdon.
The newest royal masterpiece will surely reign on every Kapamilya’s heart with its grand preparation from its remarkable plot, to its marvelous costumes, up to its memorable scenes taken at the Kingdom of Bhutan.

Albert Martinez devastated of wife's recurrent cancer!

Albert Martinez has revealed  that his wife Liezl Martinez experienced a “setback” in her battle with the Big C. They first discovered of Liezl’s breast cancer way back in 2008 when it was diagnosed and after 8 months they were happy to announced she is already cancer-free and on the way to full recovery from the disease.

 

This is what Albert said of the new diagnosis:

“Akala namin okay na [pero] nag-recur yung Big C and again gumuho nanaman ‘yung mundo ko. Kasi the past two years akala ko okay na, we’re having plans again. Then all of a sudden nangyari uli ‘yun, Parang nagstop lahat.”

“It’s harder this second time around to put the pieces together. Kasi parang ito na ba ‘yun? Parang is there any hope? So I was hoping against hope and praying 10 times harder than the first time. And hoping that whatever we’re doing right now will lead to a full recovery. Not only the situation but also emotionally.”

Albert left a touching message to his wife:

“We’re gonna fight it together. Its gonna be a group thing. You’re not alone. I’ll always be here and I’ll make sure that whatever is available out there in the market that can help you, we will do that because you’re more important than anything in the world. I love you.”

We hope that Albert and his family will pass this obstacle that they are now facing and have a brighter outcome to look forward to.

Mga de-kalidad at bigating artista nagsama-sama sa "Rosario"!

Labanan ng mga higanteng pelikula at star-studded offerings ang Metro Manila Film Festival kaya naman tiniyak ng Cinemabuhay na isang de-kalidad at hindi basta-basta mga artista ang tampok sa kanilang epic story na “Rosario” na dinirek ng premyadong actor-director na si Albert Martinez. Ito ang full-length feature film ni Albert bilang director.

Bida si Jennylyn Mercado sa “Rosario” sa isang mapanghamong papel bilang isang babae who is ahead of her time. Ito ang pinakamalaki at pinaka-importanteng role ni Jennylyn to date. Hindi siya nangiming maging daring sa kanyang pagganap dahil may tiwala siya sa kanyang direktor at nagustuhan niya ang script. Kakaiba rin ang look ng pelikula dahil period film ito. Fabulous ang cinematography at production design.

This early, marami ang nagsasabi na strong contender si Jennylyn sa best actress trophy sa darating na awards night sa December 26.

Ang kanyang mga leading men na sina Yul Servo, Dennis Trillo at Sid Lucero - ay kabilang din sa mga pinakamahuhusay na aktor ng kanilang henerasyon.

Dalawang beses nanalo si Yul sa Brussels International Film Festival, gayundin sa Cinemanila International Film Festival para sa pelikulang “Batang West Side.” Nanalo rin siya sa Star Awards for the movie “Laman” at sa Manila Film Festival para sa “Naglalayag.” Win din siya sa Brussels for “Naglalayag.”

Best supporting awardee naman si Dennis Trillo para sa Metro Manila Film Festival entry na “Aishite Mase.” Ito rin ang nagbigay kay Dennis ng award bilang Breakthrough Performance By an Actor sa Golden Screen Awards. That same award season, grandslam winner si Dennis para sa “Aishite Mase” dahil nakopo niya lahat ng awards na ipinamahagi that year. Ang pinaka-recent na panalo ni Dennis ay bilang Best Supporting Actor at the Golden Screen Awards for Mano Po 6, also an MMFF entry.

Best Actor winner naman si Sid Lucero para sa Urian Awards para sa pelikulang “Selda.” Ito rin ang nagbigay sa kanya ng Best Actor award sa Thessaloniki International Film Festival sa Greece (tabla sila ni Emilio Garcia). Ang unang acting award ni Sid ay para sa “Donsol” kung saan nakamit niya ang award na Breakthrough Performance by an Actor mula sa Golden Screen Awards.

Kasama rin sa cast ng big-budget epic na “Rosario” sina Phillip Salvador, Ricky Davao, Eula Valdez at ang Comedy King Dolphy, na pawang award-winning actors din.

Ang top honcho ng PLDT na si Manny V. Pangilinan ang personal na kumausap kay Dolphy para tanggapin nito ang papel ng narrator named Jesus sa pelikula. MVP wanted no less than the Comedy King for the important role.

Bukod pa diyan ay nakumbinse at naengganyo ang mga sumusunod na mga sikat at de-kalibreng mga artista na makasali sa pelikula kahit na maiksi lamang ag mga papel.
