The last leg of the Blind Auditions have heartwarming moments featuring young artists who will try to woo the coaches to turn around for them, including an artist who will sing an Ilocano song and will model on stage with Lea and Sarah, a girl who will teach Bamboo and host Luis Manzano taekwondo lessons, a young opera singer, an artist who was raised by her grandmother, and a boy who will get a call from his dad in London to boost his confidence.

Who among them will make the cut and complete each coach’s team? Who will be the season’s last three-chair turner? And which artists from each team will compete with one another in the three-way Battle Rounds that will begin next Saturday (June 28)?

Don’t miss “The Voice Kids” on Saturdays, 6:45 PM and Sundays, 7:30 PM on ABS-CBN’s Yes Weekend.

‘The Voice Kids’ Blind Auditions Begin this Saturday!

The best voices of Filipino kids will finally be heard in the highly anticipated premiere of the ultimate search for the next young singing superstar in “The Voice Kids” this Saturday (May 24) on ABS-CBN.

The competition officially kicks off with its unique Blind Auditions, where coaches Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Lea Salonga select the artists they want to mentor just by listening to the aspirant’s singing voice.

Some of the young artists viewers have to watch out for are the young girl from London who came home to the Philippines to showcase her talent, the fiery little girl who auditioned in the show so she could buy a Barbie doll, and a child star who wants to unveil her new singing style.

The pilot episodes will also feature host Luis Manzano personally inviting a Cebu-based OPM singer to join the Blind Auditions, coach Sarah acting as referee between coaches Lea and Bamboo during a showdown to woo a young artist to join their respective teams, and the fun performance of the three coaches with an auditionee who idolizes Michael Jackson.

Who among them will get the coaches to push the red button? Which young artist will shed tears of joy when the three coaches turn around for him?

By the end of the Blind Auditions, the coaches must have selected 18 artists for their respective teams who will proceed to the next rounds of the competition.

Don’t miss “The Voice Kids” this Saturday (May 24), 6:45 PM and on Sunday (May 25), 7:30 PM on ABS-CBN’s Yes Weekend.

“The Voice Kids” search begins this May 24!

Meet the kids behind the big and unique voices who are ready to make their dreams come true in the highly anticipated premiere of the ultimate singing-reality search “The Voice Kids” this May 24 on ABS-CBN.

Expect the same tension in the battle for vocal supremacy as returning coaches Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo, Rock Superstar Bamboo, and Broadway Diva Lea Salonga find the best voices of Filipino kids aged eight to 14. Like the other international versions of “The Voice Kids,” only three coaches will sit in the red swivel chairs and select the artists they want to mentor just by listening to the aspirant’s singing voice in the Blind Auditions.

“It’s a big privilege to get to work with some amazing kids, and hopefully be able to influence them the right way,” said Lea.

Sarah said she feels a deep connection with the young artists as she herself joined several amateur and TV singing contests as a child.

“I see myself in them. I believe it’s my strength and it will help me in coaching them, because I went through everything they are going through,” shared Sarah.

Bamboo, meanwhile, admitted coaching in the kids edition of the program would be difficult just as he had predicted, but sees it as a huge challenge.

“With adults, you already know where they’re headed as an artist. With kids, it’s still a gray area. So I carefully listen to every child so I can give justice to their performance when I comment, whether I turn around or not,” he said.

By the end of the Blind Auditions, the coaches must have selected 18 artists for their respective teams who will proceed to the next rounds of the competition.

The Battle Rounds in the kids version is slightly different from the adults version in that in the former, each coach will have to pit three members on their team by singing one song together. Only one from each grouping will advance to the Sing-Off, where six artists from each team will try to give their all to impress their coach.

In the Sing-Off, each coach must pick two artists who will get into the Semi-Finals. From these six semi-finalists, the Top 4 artists will be selected that will battle it out in the grand finals. This means that one of the coaches might have two star artists who will compete in the finale.

“The Voice Kids” will be hosted by Luis Manzano with Alex Gonzaga.

“I’ve been exposed to kids, so more or less I already know what to say to them and how to make them feel better. I like the backstage area, because they still don’t have that nervousness in them. I get to know their stories, why they’re here, the things they want to accomplish,” said Luis, who previously hosted “Star Circle Kid Quest,” “Junior Minute to Win It,” and “Pilipinas Got Talent.”

For the very first time, Luis will be working with Alex, one of the V-Reporters in “The Voice of the Philippines” Season 1.

“Members of the staff tell us we shouldn’t be working together, because we just laugh and joke around the whole time. But we’ve known each other for the longest time, and it’s honestly a pleasure to work with her,” Luis said.

Alex, for her part, prepared so much for her hosting duties especially that she’s tasked with interacting with the young artists in the ‘tension room.’ According to her, she is able to refresh everything she learned as an Education major in college.

“You have to use different techniques to deal with children, because some of them feel like ‘The Voice’ is their last shot. Before they take the stage in the blind auditions, I am there to boost their morale. They’re kids, so they might get starstruck by the coaches or get intimidated by the lights. I encourage and make them feel at ease,” shared Alex.

Don’t miss the premiere of “The Voice Kids” this May 24 on ABS-CBN.

Bamboo and Tattoo Home Broadband Give smiles to Children of Ormoc!

Bamboo and Tattoo Home Broadband Give smiles to Children of Ormoc

Tattoo Home Broadband together with celebrated rock icon Bamboo gave the children of Brgy. Tambulilid Elementary School in Ormoc, Leyte plenty of reasons to smile with gifts of toys in time for Christmas.

A fitting finale to a successful run of Bamboo’s Christmas concert Believe: Christmas at Home with Bamboo, the concert became the prime vehicle to be able to collect over 2000 toys for the benefit of the kids in the said barangay. After the onslaught of typhoon Yolanda, Tattoo, through Globe Telecom’s Bangon Pinoy program, gave its commitment to restore and rebuild 100 homes in Ormoc, in partnership with Gawad Kalinga. And with the holiday season Tattoo chose to give importance to the children of the community who were left most vulnerable after the calamity.

Everyone who wanted to watch the concert purchased toys in exchange for the tickets. On the other hand, those who simply wanted to share a simple Christmas message posted their video greetings on Instagram with the hashtag #UnwrapHope. Each video post was also equivalent to a toy that Tattoo donated on their behalf. And as a special treat, a creative selection of these videos were compiled and revealed during Bamboo’s concert.

Following the collection of toys was the gift wrapping activity held at the Globe Tower where employees, Tattoo customers and Bamboo’s fans alike helped each other to wrap and put a bow on every single toy. The gifts were sealed with Christmas cards from the kids of Taguig Elementary school.

As Globe Senior Vice President for Broadband Business Gilbert Simpao said, “what better way to end a blessed year right than to give back. We feel very lucky to have this opportunity to make kids happy especially after what happened with typhoon Yolanda. And this is just the beginning as we commit to return in time to rebuild of their homes”.

And just like Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, Bamboo and the whole Tattoo team and Globe employee volunteers arrived at the elementary school bearing gifts of joy in the form of truckloads of toys.

“We will forever be thankful that these children welcomed us and allowed us to be a part of their Christmas celebration. But we don’t only want to be here just for the holidays. We are here for this community for the long haul and we look forward to making more children happier in the near future” continues Globe Vice President for Tattoo Home Broadband Business Jurist Gamban.

Joining Bamboo, Simpao and Gamban in the recent gift giving was Globe Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications Yoly Crisanto, and Globe Vice President for Nomadic Broadband Business Dong Ronquillo alongside Globe employee volunteers who gave their time and effort for this meaningful cause.

The children gave the Tattoo team a warm welcome and even had a chance to dance with them. Kids received toys from huggable stuffed dolls and building blocks to action figures.

Tattoo together with Gawad Kalinga are now in the process of preparing in time for the building of the Tattoo-GK village in Brgy. Tambulilid this January. Apart from 100 houses, the village can also count on Tattoo’s support with livelihood programs designed for sustainable living. Tattoo was able to raise funding for this project with their donation of 100% of their sales from their sticks and home broadband plans for November and December.

Bangon Pinoy is Globe Telecom’s enterprise-wide disaster response initiative that aims to have a unified system for donations, relief efforts, and corporate social responsibility programs across products and services. It is an integrated program that allows communities devastated by calamities to benefit from various efforts geared towards rebuilding and rehabilitation. It was first introduced by Globe in 2009 after typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng wreaked havoc in the country.
