She was there to throw a bachelorette party for her non-showbiz friend. She reserved one of the two long tables at the club’s VIP section that had its own bar and toilets.

At the other table were actors John Lloyd Cruz, Jake Cuenca, Phoemela Baranda , JR Isaac and Leah de Guzman, among others.

As the party goes on, the actress was getting irritated when some people, not from their table, kept approaching and getting drinks.

Then Anne got up to go to the ladies’ toilet. Unknown to her, actor John Lloyd and Jake Cuenca followed her. The two boys, knowing that Anne was super “kikay” tried to pull a prank on her. They started banging the door of the toilet non-stop, getting louder and louder making Anne so agitated.

The two continued banging the door until they heard that Anne was about to get out. When the furious Anne stepped out of the toilet, she saw JR Isaac and Leah de Guzman nearby. It was at this instance when the drunk Anne concluded that it was they who were banging the door earlier, and without a word she slapped them both.

Shocked by the scene, John Lloyd then suddenly emerged and approached Anne to tell her that it was he and Jake who did the banging. Anne, who was mad as hell, slapped JL and shouted at him with all her might, “You are an addict! ”

She saw Phoemela and pointed at her saying ” I can buy you, your friends, and this club!” Then Anne saw the co-owner of the bar JM Rodriguez and said.

” You know, this is the worst place to have a party! “

Things happened so fast and, they saw Anne being ushered away from the scene.

And Jake Cuenca probably left soon never seeing the big scandal.

Eight days after it happened, the story began circulating so fast prompting Anne to issue an apology via a series of tweets on her twitter account (Continue reading)

“Status: It’s Complicated” movie poster revealed!

Regal Films has released the official movie poster for their upcoming romantic comedy “Status: It’s Complicated” starring Maja Salvador, Jake Cuenca, Paulo Avelino, Solenn Heussaff, and Miss Eugene Domingo. Directed by Chris Martinez.

MANNY (Jake Cuenca) and JERRY (Paolo Avelino) have been best buddies and housemates for the longest time but they cannot be any more different from each other – especially when it comes to their take on the affairs of the heart. Manny, a chef gifted with chiselled looks and ripped abs, believes that love – just like sex – should be shared with as many partners as possible. On the other hand, Jerry, a dorky-but-cute graphic designer, thinks that he should wait it out for that special someone. They decide to swap lifestyles just to prove whose theory is right.

Unexpectedly, Manny falls hard for RINA (Maja Salvador) – a conservative hot babe who would not have any of his romantic or sexual innuendoes. Meanwhile, Jerry becomes the focus of attention of two of his clients – foreign-educated fashion designer SYLVIA (Solenn Heussaff) and highly-educated sexologist MARIAN (Eugene Domingo). As the two guys compare notes on their ongoing lifestyle experiment, their love and sex lives get intertwined with their involvement with the three women.

STATUS: IT’S COMPLICATED dares to defy the widely-accepted notions on love, sex, and relationships.

“Tuhog” movie poster revealed!

Cinemalaya award-winning director Veronica “Ronnie” Velasco feels very fulfilled finishing her newest masterpiece–”Tuhog,” Skylight Films’ controversial upcoming ‘maindie’ (mainstream and indie combined) drama movie starring Enchong Dee, Jake Cuenca, Empress, Leo Martinez and Eugene Domingo, which will be shown on cinemas nationwide on July 17.

“On a scale of 1 to 10 as how proud I am about this film? I can say na 12 kasi ang hirap-hirap gawin ng pelikulang ito. Actually, hanggang ngayon, nagugulat pa rin ako na nagawa namin siyang tapusin in 23 days despite all the logistical nightmares,” said Direk Ronnie. “Nung sinusulat namin ito ni Jinky Laurel, it seemed like a good idea on paper but getting it on the screen, ibang kuwento ‘yun! Ito na siguro ang pelikulang pinaka-proud ako kasi hindi ko akalain na magagawa ko siya.”

Direk Ronnie revealed that the story of “Tuhog” is inspired from a true story. “Nasa isip ko na siya early 90′s pa kasi I came across this tabloid picture na may several bus passengers na nasaktan dahil sa isang freak road accident,” she said. “From the start, it was a challenge to pitch, to produce, and to write this movie. Kapag iisipin mo kasi, it’s about a bus accident, so ano ba ito? Horror? Pero hindi. It’s a daring drama movie about family na seryoso ang tema pero mag-e-enjoy ka.”

Meanwhile, Direk Enrico Santos, executive director of Skylight Films, is honored that their label was given the opportunity to be part of the grand celebration of the 20th anniversary of ABS-CBN Film Productions.

“Tuhog’ is our little anniversary gift for the 20th anniversary of ABS-CBN Film Productions,” said Direk Enrico. “Aligned with our anniversary tagline, ‘Magkuwentuhan Tayo,’ the Skylight label would like to give the same classic stories of love, family, friendship and life the Skylight ‘brand of storytelling–may konting spice, may konting sipa, may konting liko ng daan sa pagkikuwento.”

Direk Enrico shared that the unique beauty of “Tuhog” starts from its mere title.

True to its trademark of giving fresh, unpredictable, and edgier approach to familiar movie themes to the edgier audience, Skylight Films’ second movie offering for 2013 is a shockingly beautiful story about the connected lives of three uniquely struggling people–the cranky bus barker, Fiesta (Eugene); the confused retired old man, Tonio (Leo); and Caloy (Enchong), the young man who preserves his virginity for his girlfriend (Empress)–whose screwed lives are further ‘screwed’ by a bus accident.

How will a vehicular accident connect the lives of three people literally and figuratively? How will Fiesta, Tonio, and Caloy ‘disconnect’ from each other even if this means death for one of them?

Don’t dare miss Skylight Films’ one-of-a-kind drama about family, hope and love, watch “Tuhog” showing on cinemas nationwide on July 17, 2013.

Maja Salvador and Jake Cunca topbill “Status: It’s Complicated”!

Jake Cuenca and Maja Salvador will team up for the first time in the up-coming movie “Status: It’s Complicated” under Regal Films!

They are joined in the cast by Paulo Avelino, Solenn Heussaff and Eugene Domingo.

Directed by Chris Mendez.

This is what Maja said of the new movie and leading man:

“Ngayon siyempre at least nagkaroon ako ng chance na maka-partner naman si Jake. Sa dami ng mga hottest stars ngayon, siyempre maswerte ako na makapareha niya. Mas nakaka-excite kasi love story naman ang gagawin namin ni Jake.”

Maja on working with Sollen:

“Iyon naman ang maganda sa atin. Nakaktrabaho natin ‘yung ibang artista kahit sa ibang network.”

Jake on Maja:

“Matagal na kaming magkaibigan. May ginawa kaming movie, hindi naman kami mag-partner. Excited ako. I’m honored to be her leading man.”

According to Mendez, “Status: It’s Complicated” is inspired by the original Ishmael Bernal film “Salawahan”:

“It’s about relationship, courtship. Napapanahon pa rin siya. Ginawa namin mas hip, mas contemporary. Siyempre iba na ang mga artista, mas masaya, mas modern.”
