It+Takes+a+Man+and+a+Woman

“It Takes a Man and a Woman” is now on track to bump off the comedy flick “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” as the second all-time highest grossing local film, after it earned at least P300 million within its first two weeks in cinemas nationwide.

The movie “Praybeyt Benjamin“ starring Vice Ganda and directed by Wenn V. Deramas,  reportedly earned P331 million during its theatrical run in 2011.

It places second in terms of total box-office earnings to another Deramas film “Sisterakas,” which featured the trio of Vice Ganda, Kris Aquino and Ai Ai delas Alas as lead stars which is a MMFF entry and reportedly earned P391 million during its run in cinemas nationwide, making it the all-time highest grossing.

It Takes a Man and a Woman” is a different movie which is up against Hollywood blockbuster movies.

Will the movie sustains its momentum and becomes the highest grossing movie of all time?

This is what John Lloyd Cruz has to say on this:

“Hindi ko alam, mahirap sabihin, because when ‘Sisterakas’ was shown, ano ‘yun eh, film fest. Ngayon, matindi pa ang competition, ang daming summer big movies na paparating habang magpe-play kami, so I don’t know. Hindi ko alam kung ano mangyayari, pero siyempre andoon ‘yung… umaasa tayo na magtuluy-tuloy.”

Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz’s “It Takes A Man and A Woman” to hit cinemas this Black Saturday!

It Takes A Man And A Woman” is set to hit cinemas nationwide on Black Saturday (March 30).

Box-office royalties Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz admitted that they are equally excited, just like the rest of the moviegoers nationwide, for the much-awaited big screen return of two of the most-loved Pinoy movie characters namely, Laida Magtalas (Sarah) and Miggy Montenegro (John Lloyd) via “It Takes A Man And A Woman,” the third installment of the most successful Filipino film franchise co-produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films.

It+Takes+a+Man+and+a+Woman

The Laida-Miggy love story is so special to Sarah and John Lloyd that they both felt challenged in doing the third, and possibly the last installment of the movie franchise.

“Emotional ako sa paggawa ng movie na ito kasi napakasaya ng feeling na after four years ay nagkasama-sama kami ulit nila John Lloyd, Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina, and the whole cast na magagaling lahat. Pero nandun rin ‘yung lungkot kasi baka ito na ‘yung last installment ng movie series na ito na nag-start sa ‘A Very Special Love’ at sinundan ng ‘You Changed My Life,” said Sarah.

“Sana ‘yung naging learnings ng characters namin maalala ng lahat ng manonood. But if there’s one thing that I can really guarantee is that we have a very good ending at lalabas sila ng sinehan na talagang masaya katulad nang kung paano naging masaya sina Miggy at Laida,” John Lloyd expressed.

Like the rest of the nation, Sarah and John Lloyd loved the series even more not only because of the romantic scenes between Laida and Miggy but because of the lessons imparted by the characters. “Syempre nalungkot ako na nagbreak sila Laida at Miggy. Iba ‘yung naituro nu’n sa akin habang ginagawa ko ‘yung pelikula,” shared Sarah. “My character, Laida, has always been a believer of fairytales at dito sa movie, at dito sa movie, makikita mo ‘yung growth niya at maturity niya. At ‘yun ang gusto ko ring ma-apply unti-unti para sa sarili ko.”

John Lloyd also confessed how attached he is with his character Miggy. “Hindi lang naman kami gumagawa ng pelikula para lang may maipalabas. Kapag inaangkin mo kasi ‘yung character, nag-e-exist siya sa buhay mo. So ‘yung struggles at journey niya, nagiging struggles at journey mo rin. ‘Yung mga natutunan niya, natutunan mo din. At kay Miggy, halos nagsabay kasi ang growth namin as a person so kaya ganon na lang ako talaga ka-emotional these past few days. It’s like saying goodbye to a friend,” the actor said.

With the learnings they got from the experiences of Laida and Miggy, Sarah and John Lloyd were even made closer in their love team’s return on the big screen.

“Ito ang pinakamagandang naabot ng relasyon namin ni Sarah bilang magkatrabaho at bilang magkaibigan,” said John Lloyd. “Alam naming marami pa kaming dapat matutunan sa isa’t-isa, which makes it very exciting and inspiring kasi hindi naman dito natatapos ‘yung istorya namin and I’m looking forward to another journey para sa aming dalawa.”

What were the trials that Laida and Miggy faced after their break-up? Is it really the end for their love story or will Laida and Miggy rediscover the magic of the ‘very special lovek they once shared?

Aside from Sarah and John Lloyd, also part of “It Takes A Man And A Woman” are Joross Gamboa, Gio Alvarez, Matet De Leon, Al Tantay, Irma Adlawan, Guji Lorenzana, Rowel Santiago, and Dante Rivero. The film also introduces model-host Isabelle Daza, who will plays the character of Belle, the socialite girlfriend of Miggy.

Don’t miss the return of the most successful romantic-comedy movie series “It Takes A Man And A Woman” which will be shown on theaters nationwide on March 30, 2013.
