Hunk actor Gerald Anderson broke down, cried and left the press conference on Tuesday of Star Cinema’s upcoming movie “Till My Heartaches End.”

Anderson’s emotional outburst happened as he shared his thoughts and feelings about his life and career following his rumored break-up with long-time on-screen partner Kim Chiu.

Chiu was also present at the press conference.

Anderson reportedly ended his special relationship with Chiu because of actress Bea Alonzo.

Anderson cried after he failed to answer a question from a reporter on whether he ever had an opportunity to ask Chiu if she loves him.

“Sa loob ng 4 years, opo. Nagkaroon kami ng special relationship. We shared very happy moments together. We cared for each other, at times, siyempre we hurt each other, mas madalas, ako. Pero masakit kasi. Ang masakit doon ay ang dami kong binigay sa kanyang problema at heartaches, pero tinanggap niya pa din ako.

“Masakit kasi alam ko, kahit kailan, kahit anong gawin ko ay hindi ko pa din mapapantayan ang ginawa niya para sa akin, ang pagtanggap niya sa akin,” the actor said.

Anderson said he has never sought to hurt anyone. What makes him really sad, he added, is that there are now people who hate him, even threatening him and his family.

“Nakalimutan siguro nila na tao din ako, nagkakamali din ako,” Anderson said.

He said he is also hurt by the move of Chiu’s fans, popularly known as Kimerald, to withdraw their support for him.

“Marami po akong natatanggap na hate mails kahit sa bahay ko, ang mga mahal ko sa buhay ko ay nadadamay,” he said.

He added: “Kasi kung ako lang, kaya kong tanggapin ito, kaya kong tiisin ang lahat ng nangyayari sa akin, pero iba na kung idinadamay ang pamilya mo. Iba na kung isang araw, may tumawag sa akin at sasabihin ay papatayin daw niya ang anak niya.”

“Hindi ako perpektong tao, I tried my best para maging inspirasyon sa ibang tao para maging isang role model pero mahirap din.”

After expressing his thoughts, Anderson excused himself from the event and didn’t come back.

According to ABS-CBN executive Eric John Salut, Anderson failed to return to the press conference after he hyperventilated.

The actor was checked by ABS-CBN’s medical team.

“May ia-announce lang po, hindi na po kayang bumalik ni Gerald Anderson. He is being attended now by the medic, medyo nagha-hyperventilate po siya, pasensiya na po at hindi na po matatapos ni Gerald ang (event),” Salut said.

Kim defends Anderson

Chiu also cried during Anderson’s emotional moment. She appealed to her fans to understand that they although they are celebrities, they are also entitled to privacy.

Chiu admitted she also gets hurt when people say bad things against Anderson to the extent that they even threaten the actor and Alonzo.

“Ako, okay ako, ayaw kong may naririnig ako na papatayin si Bea, tatapunan ng asido at papatayin si Gerald, ayaw ko ng ganoon,” she said.

“Tanggapin niyo na kung anuman ‘yong nangyayari, and sana, maging masaya tayo. Kung anuman ang nangayayari ngayon, sana ay tanggapin niyo na at maintindihan nila na may personal din kaming buhay,” Chiu said.

She said Anderson is just a human being who sometimes makes mistakes.

“Salamat and sana ay maging okay ang lahat. Sabi ko nga sa ‘The Buzz,’ ‘yong mga taong nagsasabi ng masama tungkol kay Gerald, minsan ako ang nasasaktan para sa kanya, kasi tao lang din naman siya, nagkakamali. Sana ay intindihin na lang po natin ‘yon tanggapin na lang natin kung ano ang nangyari,” Chiu said.

Chiu also thanked her fans for their support, and expressed hope that things would turn out for the better.
