Martin Nievera’s 30th Year “3D: Tatlong Dekada” Album track list revealed!

Thirty years after the song “Be My Lady” have been one of the most  favourite  love songs of OPM and as the rise of the Concert King Martin Nievera, PolyEast Records celebrates a legendary career  with the release of the album MARTIN NIEVERA 3D: Tatlong Dekada.

The new album represents Martin’s every aspect of his career – from recording to touring to endorsements to best-selling albums.  “Here’s a CD of 15 newly written songs just to add more magic to OPM. I’m just so proud of this album because it’s going to celebrate my 30 years in the business without having to look back. Let’s just say, today is first day of the rest of my career,” Nievera said.

As the album celebrates Nievera’s achievements of the past and the promise of the future,  MARTIN NIEVERA 3D: Tatlong Dekada is now available in stores released by PolyEast Records which comes with a CD plus DVD– collecting music videos of Nievera’s monumental anthems that played a pivotal role in his musical history.

Being Nievera’s home label since his album Chasing Time in 2002,  PolyEast Records has put together an outstanding collection featuring Nievera’s classic signature sound with 15 original songs and three classic remakes.

The first single taken from the highly anticipated new album is entitled IPADARAMA written by the award-winning composer Kiko Salazar and currently being played on local radios.

To celebrate 30 years of music and the release of this new album, Nievera’s collaborative approach to writing and recording his new music is evidenced throughout the album with the help of some of the most notable songwriters and producers of OPM which includes Marvin Querido, Joey Benin, Jungee Marcelo, Ogie Alcasid, Arnie Mendaros and Kiko Salazar.

Nievera also recorded three remakes which run the gamut of his varied stylistic approach and what Nievera has been known for, for the past years. “Remakes became my new therapy… to bring back new life to old songs” Nievera said.  Remakes include the song “Pangako”, originally by Ogie Alcasid,  was used in the teleserye “Walang Hanggan”; Paul Anka’s “Times of Your Life” with Nievera’s version from the hit teleserye Lorenzo’s Time; and a timeless collaboration with Vina Morales in  teleserye’s A Beautiful Affair’s song “After All” which was originally popularized by Peter Cetera in the 80s.

As testament to the genre that Nievera spawned thirty years ago, he has indelibly etched in Philippine music history and popular culture being OPM’s Concert King. Nievera’s first-ever album was Martin…Take One in 1982, sparked an incredible run of success that made him chart over 26 albums since then and became one of the highest selling OPM artists until now. “In my 30 years in the music business, I think I’ve had more failures, misses than hits. I think I am a success because of my failures.”

Nievera recently finished his stint being a judge/mentor on the recently concluded reality talent show XFactor on ABS-CBN and he shared “I think the next step is putting more emphasis on OPM by coming out with songs written by Filipinos, sung by Filipinos…I think I’ve to try develop ‘dreamers’ and I’ve learned a lot being a judge/mentor on XFactor… I want to teach these new singers to have a dream

For hundreds of thousands of fans who have sung and celebrated with OPM’s concert king, Nievera has been a constant factor in their lives. Now here’s how he would like to thank all the fans who have been supporting him over the past 30 years. MARTIN NIEVERA 3D: Tatlong Dekada is now available in stores nationwide released by PolyEast Records. Songs of the 80′s for The X Factor Philippines this weekend!

Judge-mentor Gary Valenciano now has slimmer chances of winning in “The X Factor Philippines” alongside his mentees after his second group, Takeoff got eliminated last Sunday (Sep 2).

After the mentor-judges’ votes caused a deadlock between Takeoff and Over 25′s Joan Da, the voting public’s decision ruled in favor of Joan(9.99%) and sent home the all-male group who garnered the lowest numbers of text votes (6.59%). While Gary and Pilita are left with only one act to mentor, Charice still has KZ Tandingan and Allen Sta. Maria representing the Girls. Martin Nievera, meanwhile, remains unbeaten with three of his mentees from the Boys— Jeric Medina, Gabriel Anciano, and Kedebon Colim— still standing strong in the show.

What will the top 7 perform this week? ITS THE WEEK of 80s SONGS! Whose journey will end in the next elimination night?

Don’t miss as the competition gets even tougher in the country’s biggest and grandest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines,” with KC Concepcion as host, every Saturday, after “MMK,” and every Sunday, after “Sarah G Live” on ABS-CBN.

Take Off is Voted Off from ‘The X Factor Philippines’!

Take Off has been voted off from The X Factor Philippines after receiving the least percentage of votes from the public.

The bottom two, Take Off and Joan Da, battled for the mentor-judges’ votes during the September 2 episode of The X Factor Philippines.

On their third time in the bottom 2, Take Off sang Ogie Alcasid’s “Sa Kanya” for their survival song.

Joan Da, on the other hand, sang “Grenade” by Bruno Mars as her survival song. It was her second time in the bottom 2.

Pilita Corales and Charice Pempengco voted off Take Off, while Gary Valenciano and Martin Nieveravoted off Joan Da which resulted to another deadlock.

But since Take Off got the lowest number of votes, 6.59% against Joan Da‘s 9.9%, Gary V.’s boy band was eliminated.

‘The X-Factor Philippines’ is the most watched talent show!

The country’s biggest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines,” won in national TV ratings over rival network’s newly launched talent-reality shows during the weekend making it the most-watched talent show in the land.

Based on recent urban and rural TV ratings data from Kantar Media, “The X Factor Philippines” scored an average national TV rating of 20.7% last Saturday (Aug 4) vs TV5’s Artista Academy” only rated at 1.8%. GMA 7’s bet “Protégé: The Battle for the Big Artista Break” also fell short on its viewership and wasn’t able to beat “The X Factor Philippines” (16.6%) during its launch last Sunday (Aug 5).

More Filipinos are definitely glued to the intense competition being served by the hit Kapamilya show especiall after judge-mentor Charice bid goodbye to her first act. Jerrianne Templo, a dive guide from Mandaluyong City, got booted from the competition after judge-mentors Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, and Pilita Corrales favored to save Over 25s Joan Da, who is also at the bottom two together with Jerrianne.

Who among the finalist will standout in this week’s performances? Who will be the next finalist falling off to the bottom 2? Whose judge’s acts will continue and who will end their journey? Don’t miss as the competition heats up in the country’s biggest and grandest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines,” with KC Concepcion as host, every Saturday, after “MMK,” and every Sunday, after “Sarah G Live” on ABS-CBN.

All is set for the The X-Factor Philippines premiere this Saturday!

The country’s biggest and grandest musical event of the year kicks off on Saturday as ABS-CBN premieres the much-awaited Philippine adaptation of the worldwide phenomenal hit X Factor franchise, The X Factor Philippines, with KC Concepcion as host and Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, Charice and Pilita Corrales as celebrity judge-mentors.

The X Factor Philippines is searching for undiscovered talent 16 years old and above that will be divided into four categories: Girls, Boys, Adults and Groups. They should be willing to brave the panel for a chance to win the biggest prize in a Philippine singing competition, a whopping P4M worth of prizes, and become the next Pinoy multimedia star.

After months of auditions in 70 cities across the country, more than 20,000 hopefuls flocked to the audition venues in hopes of fulfilling their dreams. But it wasn’t an easy ride for each and every one of them as they underwent a tedious screening process.

As early as the audition stage, the hopefuls must impress the judges and at the same time an audience of thousands that can be a potential legion of fans. The auditionees need at least three “yes” from the judge-mentors to proceed to the next stage — the Boot Camp.

In the Boot Camp, contestants will go through a series of performances that will further test their X factor. This will enable the judge-mentors to select and trim them down to 20 contestants divided in four categories— five solo male contestants aged 16 to 25 or the “Boys,” five solo female contestants aged 16 to 25 or “Girls,” five solo contestants over 25 years old or the “Adults,” and five group contestants aged 16 and above or the “Groups.”

Before advancing to the Judges’ Homes stage, The X Factor Philippines producers will then reveal which category judge-mentors Martin, Gary, Charice and Pilita will be mentoring. The judge-mentors then take the contestants to their respective “Judge’s Home” where they will select the best performers to take to the live show.

Only three contestants from each category will complete the final 12 contestants who will proceed in the final stage of the competition. At this point, the finalists must face the fifth and final judge who has the sole power to turn their dream of becoming a star into reality— the viewers.

Who will become the first grand winner of The X Factor Philippines? Will the winner come from the Boys, Girls, Adults, or Groups? Who among the mentors will coach the country’s next singing superstar?

Watch out for jaw-dropping performances from auditionees and unexpected tensions among the celebrity judge-mentors. More surprises are also coming your way in weeks to come.

‘The X Factor Philippines’ Begins Search for Next Singing Superstar!

“The X Factor Philippines” brings together four of the country’s biggest names in the recording industry across generations, Concert King Martin Nievera, Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, international singing sensationCharice, and Asia’s Queen of Songs Pilita Corrales, as celebrity judge-mentors who will start touring the country this week and begin the search for the next Pinoy singing superstar.

“It’s such an honor to be part of the show. I’ve been there. I joined singing contests and I know how they feel. So, as a judge-mentor, I’m just going to be kind but honest to them,” said Charice who is the youngest ‘The X Factor’ judge-mentor in the history of the international franchise.

Martin also expressed his excitement to work with his fellow “The X Factor Philippines” judge-mentors.

“Gary and I have a great working relationship. Tita Pilita is my mentor. Not too many people know it though, but she was the one who discovered me and said that I have a future in the industry. Charice is the youngest with most experience so I’m sure she has a lot to bring so I am just excited to work with all of them,” he explained.

Gary, on the other hand, is just as excited as Martin to start the show especially on mentoring the contestants. He also shared his stand on the possible competition that may happen among the judge-mentors.

“I am that kind of guy that if I challenge anyone— it’ll be myself. It will not be for the other judges because the other judges have their own idea on who’s going to be the next big thing. Whether I get to mentor the Boys, the Girls, the Over 30s, or the Groups, I hope that in the end it’ll be one from my group who will win. But knowing the judges we have, it will not be a challenge to put down anybody but rather bringing out the best in whomever the contestant is,” said Gary.

Meanwhile, Pilita, who is not new in judging talent searches, admitted she is quite challenged because the show is entirely different from the past shows or judging she did.

“There is mentoring involved here. We are not just looking for the voice. We are looking for a personality you can sell worldwide. If we are looking for someone who sings well, there are thousands in this country, on every corner of the street but they need to have that ‘x factor.’ We can’t even define it but once we see it on someone, we would know,” said Pilita.

The celebrity judge-mentors will soon tour the country together with host KC Concepcion. KC joined “The X Factor Philippines” team during the first round of auditions and shared how she was blown away by the contestants.

“They are really good. You will be surprised to see all of them. It is true that we have the best performers. For example, there is one carenderia vendor, wearing a simple duster, whom you wont believe can sing like Whitney Houston,” KC shared.

KC and the judge-mentors will first go to Cebu on Wednesday (May 16) and on Thursday (May 17) for the Visayas leg of auditions to be held in Hoops Dome, Cebu City.

They will then go to Davao Del Sur Coliseum in Davao on May 23 and 24 to see if Mindanao hopefuls have the ‘x factor.’

Manilenos and auditionees from the rest of Luzon will be adjudged last as the team goes to its final stop at the PAGCOR Theater this May 30, 31, and June 1.

Live auditions are open to the public. Keep tuning in on ABS-CBN to know how to claim free tickets.

If you want to watch auditions in Davao, get your tickets at ABS-CBN Davao on May 19, 1 PM on on May 21 at the audition venue at the same time.

For tickets to auditions in PAGCOR Theater, just line up at the ABS-CBN audience entrance on Saturday (May 26) at 1 PM.

“The X Factor” is a world-renowned musical franchise by Simon Cowell that started in the UK. ABS-CBN bagged the exclusive rights to localize the program with KC Concepcion as host. The show will also give away P4 million in prizes— the biggest prize for a talent search in the history of Philippine TV.

Watch out for biggest musical event of the year, “The X Factor Philippines,” with host KC Concepcion, airing soon on ABS-CBN.
