Aljur Abrenica is a first class male escort in “Magpakailanman” this Saturday!

Kapuso hunk and matinee idol Aljur Abrenica is starring in this Saturday’s episode (April 27) of the GMA drama anthology program, “Magpakailanman.”

aljur

The episode, entitled “Bayarang Adonis: The Kristoffer King Story,” features the true life story of Kristoffer King, a fledging independent actor who sacrificed his own dignity and resorted to prostitution to save his son ailing son.

Kristoffer (Aljur) grew up in a family filled with all the comforts of life.  When he was younger, he got almost anything that he wanted.  Unfortunately, when his breadwinner mom passed away, his family’s fate turned upside down.  Because his father wasn’t always available to guide him while he was growing up, Kristoffer turned to drugs and not long, his life was a mess.

Kristoffer became a father at a very young age.  In order to provide for the needs of his own family, he worked as a back-up dancer, however, his irregular and modest pay was not enough to foot the bill.  He desperately needed to find a higher paying job.

One day, a gay bar owner approached Kristoffer and offered him the job of a macho dancer.  At first he was hesitant to accept the offer but driven by his financial woes, he took the job convincing himself that it will be “temporary.”

With his new job as macho dancer, he became more able to make ends meet but fate, it seemed, wasn’t done throwing hurdles at the young father just yet.  Making things worse, Kristoffer’s son was diagnosed with a rare disease called Hunter’s Syndrome, a serious genetic disorder.

Feeling hopeless, Kristoffer upped the ante and shifted from being just a macho dancer to a high-class male prostitute.  With his good looks and chiseled body, he drew in matrons and gay benefactors who were more than willing to squander huge amounts for a chance to be with Kristoffer in private.

Just as he thought it was too late and that he doesn’t have a way out of the mess he placed himself into, Kristoffer received a marriage proposal — and a Green Card – from a rich matron.  He saw it as a chance to straighten up his life and start anew.  The offer is enticing, but will he take it?

Featuring Aljur Abrenica as Kristoffer King, “Bayarang Adonis: The Kristoffer King Story” also stars Max Collins, Marc Justine Alvarez, Philip Lazaro and Joel Camacho.  It is written by Paul Sta. Ana and directed by Maryo J. Delos Reyes.

Hosted by veteran broadcast journalist Mel Tiangco, “Magpakailanman” airs every Saturday, after “Vampire Ang Daddy Ko” (approx. 7:45pm) on GMA-7.

Lovi Poe and Jackie Rice are rape victims in “Magpakailanman”!

This Saturday on Magpakailanman, Lovi Poe and Jackie Rice will play the role of Elsa and Vivian, bestfriends who are both rape victims.
Lovi+Poe+and+Jackie+Rice

Gabby Eigenmann is a rabies victim in “Magpakailanman”!

For most dog owners, their pets are more than just their bestfriends.  Oftentimes, they are more like family.  Such was the case with Eduardo Sese — that was before his beloved pet unwittingly ended his life due to rabies.

 magpakailanman-aso

Sese was a poor familyman in the province of Pampanga. Although he was undereducated and lacked the skills that would land him a good job, he was a righteous man.

He may not have the perfect family and marriage, at least he had his dogs to turn to in his times of despair.  What he didn’t expect was that his closeness with his canine friends would cost him his own life.

One day one of the puppies accidentally bit on Sese’s finger, and since he didn’t realize how harmful that bite could be, he didn’t bother to get an anti-rabies shot.

After some time, Sese’s family noticed several oddities in his behavior.  Suddenly, he became afraid of the wind and avoided water, tell-tale signs of rabies. Soon, his behavior became animal-like and he began to manifest dog-like characteristics.  His condition worsened as months passed by ultimately ending in his tragic death.

This Saturday (February 2), GMA’s drama anthology program, “Magpakailanman” will televise the life story of Eduardo Sese and how he lost the battle to rabies, a deadly viral infection that is mainly spread by infected warm-blooded animals like dogs.

Entitled “Kagat ng Asong Ulol,” the episode stars Gabby Eigenmann (as Eduardo Sese) with Rochelle Pangilinan, Irma Adlawan, Ces Quesada and Maybelline dela Cruz.

Find out more about Eduardo Sese’s story in “Magpakailanman” hosted by veteran journalist Mel Tiangco airing this Saturday (February 2), after Kap’s Amazing Stories, on GMA-7.

Katrina Halili plays herself in “Magpakailanman” this Saturday!

Kapuso actress Katrina Halili is back in showbiz refreshed and with a renewed spirit. And in her return, she tells her own story in an episode of the GMA drama anthology, “Magpakailanman,” which airs this Saturday, January 26.

Katrina Halili

Barely a few years ago, in the midst of the sex video controversy the actress was involved in, the public saw a devastated Katrina Halili.  But now, a mother of a beautiful baby named Katrence (her daughter with boyfriend Kris Lawrence), Katrina has clearly moved on from her past and is ready to embrace new challenges life has in store for her.

“Nadapa ako, bumangon ako, at inayos ko yung buhay ko. Kapag nagkamali ka, hindi mo na kailangan sabihin sa mga tao na mabuti kang tao, kailangan mo lang itama ang pagkakamali mo at ayusin ang buhay mo,” said Katrina.

Katrina hopes that by telling her story through the episode, she would inspire other women who may be going through very tough times to rise and move on with their lives.

“Gusto kong maisip nila na kapag may pinagdaraanan sila sa buhay e maikumpara nila sa bigat ng pinagdaanan ko. Yung tipong sasabihin nila na, ‘Kaya ko ‘to, si Katrina nga mas matindi pa yung pinagdaanan niya and yet kinaya niya, ako pa kaya?’,” she explained.

Katrina and Kris will be starring as themselves in the said episode entitled “Ligaw na Diyosa: The Katrina Halili Story.”  Also starring are Anita Linda, who portrays as Katrina’s dear grandmother; Allan Paule and Timi Cruz (as Katrina’s parents) and Marky Lopez (as Katrina’s assistant and confidant).  Katrina and Kris’ daughter Katrence will also have a cameo appearance (as herself) in the latter part of the episode.

Sexually abused minor, Michelle Perez’ story in “Magpakailanman”!

Michelle, now 42 years old, may not be the perfect daughter a parent could have but she certainly did not deserve the tragedy she found herself in when she was yet a child: she was sexually abused when she was only twelve years old while at a party in Baguio City.

Michelle was adopted at birth by a rich couple. Her biological mother used to be a househelp working in the couple’s mansion.  Since her mother knew she could not provide her daughter with a comfortable life, she decided to put her baby up for adoption. Michelle had known early on that she was an adopted child.

 rape+victim

Even if Michelle is not their biological daughter, her adoptive parents treated her as if she were their own.  They enrolled her in exclusive schools and even in dance and music classes during summer breaks.

Unknown to Michelle’s adoptive parents, the girl has been mistreated by their housemaids, who made up stories about her and accussed her of stealing her parents’ money. Consequently, she was frequently — albeit, unfairly — scolded by her parents.  They would learn later that the accusations were untrue and that the maids themselves were the culprits.

But the realization of Michelle’s parents’ came too late.  The much-needed affection and sense of belonginess, which she didn’t find at home, she found in the company of her peers.  Unfortunately for Michelle, she joined the wrong set of friends as they were a bunch of drug addicts.

Not long thereafter, Michelle found herself addicted to marijuana and later on, to shabu.  She carried her vice even after she gave birth to her first son, Michael John.  Eventually, Michelle’s addiction to drugs became worse.  She became a drug pusher, supplying illegal drugs to her high-profile clients, some of whom were celebrities.

Michelle continued her topsy turvy life even as she was expecting her second child.  When she turned 28, she came to a realization that will forever change her life.

She realized that drugs has not only ripped her life apart, it is also taking a toil on her family and her relationship with her children.  She figured, she must do something to change her dire situation.  She turned herself up to her parents and volunteered for drug rehabilitation.

Today, Michelle has not only moved on from her drug addiction, she is also helping drug addicts who wish to be rehabilitated and regain the normalcy in their lives.  Michelle put up a drug rehabilitation foundation, which she named “Silver Crest Foundation.”  She studied in Harvard University in the United States and in another univesity in Canada so she could become an expert in the field of drug rehabilitation.

Watch Michelle’s life story in this Saturday’s episode of “Magpakailanman” dubbed “Pakawalang Anghel” starring kapuso teen star Joyce Ching and versatile actress Ehra Madrigal as the teenage and adult Michelle, respectively.

Hosted by multi-awarded broadcast journalist Mel Tiangco, ”Magpakailanman” airs Saturday nights after “Kap’s Amazing Stories” on GMA-7. Like “Magpakailanman” on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/GMAMagpakailanman

Sunshine Dizon is LRT suicide woman in “Magpakailanman” this Saturday!

Kapuso actress Sunshine Dizon is starring in this Saturday’s episode of the reality-based drama anthology program, “Magpakailanman,” and she is going to portray as Lucy Aroma, the woman who made headlines last year when she committed suicide in an LRT station by jumping off from the platform to the track while a train was fast approaching.

When the CCTV footage of the incident was released on television, none of Lucy’s siblings who were watching the news thought it was their sister until a friend called one of them up and suggested that it could be her.

Lucy was a responsible daughter and sister.  She is the eldest among six siblings and as such, she was aware early on of her responsibility over her siblings.  Even when she was in her 20s through her 50s, she thought of nothing else but the welfare of her siblings.  In fact, she shunned her own chances at love and marriage because she felt there are more important things to attend to — like her family — than her personal concerns.

Despite Lucy’s selflessness, fate seemed to turn its back on her.  Her sister, Gina, whom she had hoped would earn a degree and land a career that could someday alleviate their family’s poverty instead ended up being pregnant at a young age. Meanwhile, her brothers decided to stop schooling and look for jobs, no matter how menial, to earn a living — and this is not how Lucy had envisioned their future to be.

As if all her misfortunes weren’t enough, Lucy was diagnosed with a type of oral cancer.  Despite her condition, she strived to endure her own sufferings and set aside every penny she could spare for her family’s needs.  One day, she probably thought she couldn’t take it anymore.  She decided to take matters into her own hands and ended her own life.

Find out more about the life story of Lucy Aroma based on the accounts of the people who know her best — her siblings, and know what lessons her family has learned from the incident.

This Saturday, GMA’s reality-based drama anthology program hosted by Ms. Mel Tiangco, “Magpakailanman,” will feature the lives of Jaylord Casino and John Edric Ulang, winners of Eat Bulaga’s “Mr. Pogi” contest.

Just like most aspirants who want to enter show business, Jaylord and John Edric have always dreamed of becoming popular stars one day and they saw showbiz as a way out of poverty.

Although they both reached the same juncture in their journey, they came from very different worlds.

Jaylord was never an achiever in school.  Despite the efforts exerted by his parents to give him a good education, he just couldn’t meet their expectations.  He grew up feeling the burden of being his parents’ biggest disappointment but he figured that there must be something special about him that could make his parents proud.  One day, a friend approached him and encouraged him to audition for “Mr. Pogi,” a competition for male wanna-be TV stars hosted by the longest running noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.”

Jaylord was confident that he has got the looks, charm and talent to win the title.  However, his parents are not as optimistic.  Besides, this is not how they have envisioned their son to succeed in life.

Meanwhile, family is not a problem for another Mr. Pogi winner John Edric. From the very beginning he has always shown the makings of a star and his parents, especially his dad, have always been supportive of his plans. Unfortunately, John Edric’s ambition of entering show business came to a halt when he unexpectedly impregnated his girlfriend, Michelle.

Consequently, John Edric’s focus shifted from pursuing his dream career to providing for his own family.  He thought he would never catch up on his dream until the opportunity to audition for “Mr. Pogi” came one day.  He grabbed the chance and the rest is history, so to speak.

Join veteran journalist Ms. Mel Tiangco as she unravels these two inspiring stories of triumph with Kapuso teen star Derrick Monasterio and Jake Vargas portraying as Jaylord and John Edric this Saturday in”Magpakailanman,” airing after Kap’s Amazing Stories on GMA-7.

Little Ms. Philippines’ Ryza Mae Dizon is on the spotlight in “Magpakailanman”!

The GMA weekly drama program “Magpakailanman” hosted by Mel Tiangco will feature the interesting story of Little Ms. Philippines 2012 Grand Winner Ryza Mae Dizon this Saturday, December 8.

Ever since winning the Search for the Little Ms. Philippines Contest in the top-rating noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” Ryza Mae Dizon has become a popular mainstay of the show.  She is loved by many viewers because of her natural charm and cute smile.  But hidden beneath the girl’s jolly personality is an interesting story that is not as comic as it is dramatic.

When Ryza Mae was born, no midwife was available to aid in the delivery, and so the girl’s father, Victor, had to do the job of assisting his wife Rizza in the ordeal.  When the baby came out, the couple feared that the baby was dead because she didn’t cry at all and the umbilical cord was convoluted around her body.

Ryza Mae’s family is poor.  Her father works as a delivery man while her mother tends their small sari-sari store.  She grew up very well aware of her family’s condition and so even at a young age, she already thought of how she could help her parents make ends meet.

One day, an agent encouraged Ryza to join a fundraiser beauty contest in their barangay.  Rizza won’t approve of the idea because she doesn’t have enough money to spare for her daughter’s costume.  But Ryza Mae was so interested in joining the competition that she herself went to the barangay hall to register without her parents knowing it.  In the end, Ryza won the competition although the cash prize was not enough to pay for their debts.

Ryza Mae auditioned for similar contests in other networks but she failed.  Her fate turned around when she joined the Little Ms. Philippines Contest of ‘Eat Bulaga’. At one point in the competition, Ryza Mae thought that it was all over for her — she was eliminated during the Semi-Finals.  Fortunately, prior to the Grand Finals, the show decided to call back some of those who were eliminated as wild card contestants.  Ryza Mae was one of the lucky ones.  Ultimately, she won in the Grand Finals and the rest is history, so to speak.

Find out more about Ryza Mae Dizon’s life this Saturday on “Magpakailanman,” airs after ‘Kaps Amazing Stories‘ on GMA-7.
