Chalk Fashion Rocks 2012 Sept. 16 with UAAP and NCAA ballers!

The hippest and coolest campus event of the year, Chalk Fashion Rocks 2012, will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Main Mall Atrium on Sept. 16, 10 a.m. Readers who want to partake in the fashion-meets-music event have to bring their Chalk Magazine September issue, which will be sold at the site as well.

To celebrate the 12th anniversary of CHALK, the event will feature the “it” kids of this generation: The Bright Young Manila kids composed of young fashion designers and bloggers, go-getters, film and music lovers and campus achievers.Included in the roster of Bright Young Manila are Dani Barretto, Yanah Laurel, Anna Oposa, Martin Yambao, Fredison Lo, Louis Isok, Jan Pineda, and PBB teens ex-housemates Myrtle Sarrosa and Yves Flores, who shall all grace the event and join the fashion show.

The UAAP and NCAA ballers composed of Gab Reyes, Jeric Teng, Jeron Teng, Mike Silungan, Kevin Alas and Anjo Caram will participate in the fashion showdown as well. The event will be hosted by Chalk Magazine September issue cover girl Megan Young and MYX VJ Chino, with the special participation of Lauren Young, Megan’s sister.

NCAA Season 88 to Air on AKTV on IBC13!

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) kicks off its 88th season with its new television partner AKTV, the premier sports channel on free TV.

This year’s host Colegio de San Juan de Letran has prepared a grand opening number which will be held at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

Students, alumni and other sports fanatics will surely be excited for the NCAA this season. The basketball games will be brought to a wider audience with its primetime schedule every Monday, Thursday and Saturday starting at 4pm. Various NCAA sports like volleyball, swimming, taekwondo, chess, tennis, table tennis, and beach volleyball will also be given full-game coverage and season-long highlights.

AKTV and the NCAA formalized its three-year partnership last April 2012. The NCAA is the newest addition to the line-up of AKTV sports affiliates that includes the UFL (United Football League), PXC (Pacific X-Treme Combat) and the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association).

The NCAA is currently composed of 10 member schools – Colegio de San Juan de Letran, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Jose Rizal University, San Sebastian College-Recoletos, San Beda College, Mapua Institute of Technology, University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, with Arellano University and Emilio Aguinaldo College under probationary status and Lyceum of the Philippines University as a guest member.

Encore presentation of the NCAA games also be seen on the same day on HYPER, the 24/7 sports channel on Cignal Digital TV.
