Piolo Pascual thanked the people behind “Starting Over Again” but not his fans?

Piolo Pascual turned emotional during the thanksgiving party of his movie “Starting Over Again” on Tuesday, admitting he almost gave up on his career.

When it was his turn to take the stage to thank the people behind the success of the Star Cinema movie, Pascual suddenly became teary-eyed, revealing that he thought of quitting showbiz until this project turned out to be a blockbuster hit.

Addressing the ABS-CBN executives in particular, Pascual said: “I was seriously considering quitting this year pero when the movie became a big hit, I said the joke is on me. I guess hindi pa po time para umalis ako sa showbiz.”

“Thank you for always being there para sabihin sa akin na huwag akong tanga at huwag ko isipin na umalis kasi hindi ko talaga alam. This was hard for me. Inayos ko na ang buhay ko. I was ready to settle down in the States. This could be my last. Maraming salamat sa tiwala kasi hindi ko talaga alam na aabot ako dito,” he added.

Three weeks since it was released in theaters, Pascual’s first big screen team-up with Toni Gonzaga already earned P375 million.

Saying this is his biggest movie to date, Pascual said he is still in awe as to how people supported “Starting Over Again.”

“Nung lumabas na ganun ang kita ng pelikula, hindi talaga ako makapaniwala because back during my time, maka P100 million ka lang okay ka na. For the movie to make more than a hundred million in four days, it was really overwhelming for me. I never thought na it would still happen,” he said.

Saying he chooses to just trust God’s plan for him, Pascual said: “Kasi roller coaster ang pinagdaanan ko. Kumbaga binigay ko na lang kasi for me, hindi ko na alam kung saan ako pupulutin after nito. Hindi naman na ako bata. With my team-up wih Tin, quota na ako.”

Star Cinema and Olivia Lamasan’s Valentine Offering as Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga movie Starting Over Again is breaking box-office records in Philippine Cinema as it breaches the 100 million mark with in 3 days of showing!

Starting Over Again is a different kind of love story as it takes the huge risk of having an unusual (for Pinoy films) ending where at the end they parted ways.

Starting Over Again is still showing in theaters nationwide.

‘Starting Over Again’ First Day Earning: 25M on it’s way to become a box-office hit!

Star Cinema’s Valentine offering “Starting Over Again” starring Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga earned P25 million on its first day of release on Wednesday.

Star Cinema made the announcement on its Facebook page on Thursday.

“Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong suporta at tulong! #StartingOverAgain 25M on its first day! To God be the glory!,” the company said in a post.

In behalf of co-stars Pascual and Iza Calzado, Gonzaga, thanked the fans for watching the movie when she appeared as a guest on”Aquino & Abunda Tonight” on Wednesday night.

“Ang dami naming natutunan sa pelikula na ito. One of the reasons why you have to watch this film is because napakasakit talaga na harapin ‘yung totoo pero kapag nagawa mo, napakasarap matuto,” Gonzaga said.

Directed by Olivia Lamasan the movie tells the story of former lovers who cross paths again after breaking up with no closure.

“Starting Over Again” is part of Star Cinema’s 20th anniversary.

Will Piolo Pascual’s ‘Starting Over Again’ movie with Toni Gonzaga becomes a Box-office hit?

Piolo Pascual and Toni Gonzaga first worked together in a TV commercial back in 2001, now they are back in the up-coming Valentine’s movie Starting Over Again!

Piolo was then the hottest male star to date, now after more than a decade Toni Gonzaga is now more visible in the small and big screen and Piolo is only visible in some commercial and on Sunday noon time show.

Will Piolo Pascual star shine again and captivate the movie viewing audience with the help of Toni Gonzaga?

His past movies were just a mild hit even if he was paired with big stars after having had a string of movie hits when he was then paired with Judy Ann Santos.

But after his love team with Juday, his movies are just mild hits.

With no other local love themed movies that will be shown this Love month, will they rake in at the tills?

Will this movie worth the wait?

“It’s definitely worth the wait,” says Pascual in an interview over a local radio last Friday, January 17.

“This is a one-of-a-kind movie, which took more than six months to make,” the actor added. From among the many love stories and dramas he has done in his entire career, ‘Starting Over Again’ stands out for its modern and contemporary setting.

Directed by Olivia Lamasan, the film is “a roller coaster ride” and “something real for the audience to experience,” says the actorwho expressed amusement for his film.

“When you go to a movie you want to be able to identify what’s happening, relate to the character who goes through certain situations with a loved one, partner or whoever they’re with,” Pascual said.
