“Man of Steel” breaks all-time Philippine gross record on opening day!

The new, origin film of Superman flew off to a blockbuster start yesterday as “Man of Steel” surpassed the industry’s all-time opening day record with a nationwide gross of a monumental P69.52-M.

“Man of Steel’s” phenomenal debut bested the opening day record previously established only last April by “Iron Man 3” at P62.9-million.

This was announced today by Francis Soliven, general manager of Warner Bros. (F.E.), Inc. which distributed the film. “This is a day of reckoning for Superman,” added Soliven. “He’s a larger-than-life character beloved by millions of Filipinos, and this was proven today. Fans and families welcomed him back overwhelmingly as evidenced by the long lines, the ubiquitous Superman shirts everywhere, and the cheers at the end of screenings.”

Dominating the over all box-office with a 94 percent share, “Man of Steel” also posted the biggest opening day gross ever for Warner Bros. whose previous best first-day performer was “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” at P28.3-million.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures comes the epic action-adventure “Man of Steel,” under the direction of Zack Snyder (“300,” “Watchmen”).

In the film, a young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind.

The film stars Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Kal-El, four-time Oscar® nominee Amy Adams, Oscar® nominee Michael Shannon, Academy Award® winner Kevin Costner, Oscar® nominee Diane Lane, Oscar® nominee Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe.

‘Man of Steel’s’ Cape Highlighted in New Banner!

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have just revealed the latest international banner artwork for Zack Snyder’s upcoming action adventure “Man of Steel.” Said banner artwork is dubbed “Cape,”and as expected, the clothing material figures prominently in the layout.

Thomas Tull, Lloyd Phillips and Jon Peters are the film’s executive producers.

Man of Steel” is slated for release in the Philippines on June 12, 2013 in IMAX 3D, Digital 3D and regular theaters and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

“Man of Steel” new poster revealed, Superman in handcuffs!

Warner Brothers has just released a new Man of Steel poster and it seemed that Superman needs help?

 

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill as Superman, it also stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Clark Kent’s adoptive parents.

The movie is directed by Zack Snyder.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents, Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions.

But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Man of Steel is already set to open on June 14th, 2013.

First Look at new Superman suit!

Here’s our first look at Henry Cavill as Superman in his new suit!

British actor Cavill shows off his body in his blue bodysuit and red cape for “Man of Steel”, the Zack Snyder-directed reboot.

To fit into that suit and attain the built look of Superman, he’s been on a crazy diet and workout plan, which he recently revealed involves 5,000 calories a day.

Cavill, formerly of “The Tudors,” will next star in the ancient actioner, “The Immortals.”
