But Bauer Publishing co fired back against Cruise’s $50 million lawsuit.

In an answer to the lawsuit, Bauer asserts that it’s not liable for damages because, among other things, “ome or all of the allegedly defamatory statements complained of by the plaintiff are true or substantially true.”

And they added that Cruise “cannot prove that he has suffered any compensable damage as a result of any actionable statement published by the Bauer Defendants,” and that he is “a public figure and the Bauer Defendants did not act with actual malice.”

Cruise’s attorney has not responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.

First Image Of Tom Cruise For “All You Need Is Kill” Arrives!

The first photo of Tom Cruise as Lt. Col. Bill Cage in the upcoming epic sci-fi thriller “All You Need is Kill” has been released by Warner Bros.

Also starring Emily Blunt, the film is currently being directed by Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity”).

All You Need is Kill” unfolds in a near future in which a hive-like alien race, called Mimics, have hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, shredding great cities to rubble and leaving millions of human casualties in their wake. No army in the world can match the speed, brutality or seeming prescience of the weaponized Mimic fighters or their telepathic commanders. But now the world’s armies have joined forces for a last stand offensive against the alien horde, with no second chances.

Lt. Col. Bill Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped—untrained and ill-equipped—into what amounts to little more than a suicide mission. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an Alpha down with him. But, impossibly, he awakens back at the beginning of the same hellish day, and is forced to fight and die again…and again. Direct physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop—dooming him to live out the same brutal combat over and over.

But with each pass, Cage becomes tougher, smarter, and able to engage the Mimics with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt), who has lain waste to more Mimics than anyone on Earth. As Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated battle becomes an opportunity to find the key to annihilating the alien invaders and saving the Earth.

Opening across the Philippines on March 2014, “All You Need is Kill” will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Below are some highlights from the interview:

On her marriage to Tom Cruise: “I was totally smitten—I fell madly, passionately in love. I was reeling with Tom. I would have gone to the ends of the earth for him. I was so impulsive and naïve… We were in a bubble, just the two of us. We became very dependent on one another.”

On filming Eyes Wide Shut: “It was an exhausting project, but in the end everyone felt they accomplished something special. I know critics think the movie is dark, but I think there is hope. Stanley [Kubrick] was emphasizing the importance of loyalty and commitment in a marriage, that marriage is a relationship that has to transcend sexuality.”

On how Keith Urban changed her life: “My life changed. He is a wonderful, caring man and he makes me feel secure. We don’t ever like to be separated.”

On how motherhood healed her: “Having my baby has been a healing experience. It took me so long to have a child. I feel enormous gratitude. Sunday has healed an enormous amount in me. It’s a very private thing, but she just has.”

Below are some highlights from the interview:

On her life and future:

“I’m ready to take on some more challenging roles. I feel like I worked so much at such a young age that I really wanted to have life experiences. I feel more balanced and like I have more to bring to the table. I always felt like I wanted to catch up [in my personal life] to what I was doing [in my career].”

On designing for women:

“I think women want to feel sexy but they don’t want anyone to know they’re trying.”

Writer Kelsey McKinnon on interviewing Katie the day before she filed for divorce:

“Going back over the tapes, there were signs: Holmes was certainly very aware of herself, laying a couple cards on the table but never showing her whole hand. Most noticeably, the one name decisively absent from her lexicon: Tom Cruise. She never actually refers to him by name over pages and pages of transcription.”

Tom Cruise lawyer insists Scientology played NO part in the settlement!

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorce has been settled so fast that people are wondering!

Bert Fields, the talented attorney of Tom Cruise said that religion was not involved in the divorce settlement in any way!

In fact! He just gave a statement, insisting:

“Let me be very clear about this. The Church of Scientology played absolutely NO ROLE in the divorce settlement talks at all. Period. The mere suggestion that the Church was involved in any element of the talks and ultimate settlement is categorically false. Anyone suggesting otherwise is just wrong.”

What is your take on this?

Tom Cruise’s life goes on and is now shooting his up-coming movie Oblivion and Katie is busy with Suri moving on with their separate lives.

Katie Holmes wants divorce details private!

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise divorce has sent the media in frenzy,it seems that Katie is doing everything in their power to keep the details of their divorce private.

Jonathan Wolfe, Holmes’ attorney, told The Los Angeles Times‘ that the reports that surfaced last week stating that Holmes was looking for an “emergency” custody hearing were untrue. He did, however, mention that Holmes is trying to keep the case private.

“The reports about an emergent filing last Friday are incorrect. Other than her action for divorce, the only pending application filed by Ms. Holmes remains her request for an anonymous caption,” Holmes’ attorney told the publication.

An anonymous source went on to say that Holmes is hoping to avoid a public fight over the divorce, and that there won’t be a fight over money.

But, the camp of Tom Cruise thinks otherwise: “They believe Katie and her team are leaking false stories to the media by maintaining she was trying to save Suri from the grips of Scientology, and that’s why she left Tom.”
