ABS-CBN’s head of Corporate Communications Bong Osorio has released an official statement to clarify the issue about Aiza Seguerra‘s alleged resignation from the top-rating daytime program “Be Careful with My Heart.

Aiza Seguerra is a valued member of the top-rating Kapamilya daytime series “Be Careful With My Heart” family and her character, Kute, is integral to the narrative of the show. It is not true that she has resigned from the show.

Aiza Seguerra resigns from “Be Careful With My Heart” does anyone miss her?

Aiza Seguerra is no longer part of  ”Be Careful with My Heart” now that the time slot has been moved to new a time slot!

Aiza’s main reason for her resignation, is that the program is now directly competing  with “Eat Bulaga” where she started her career out of respect.

This is what she said:

“Respeto na lang sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ kasi diyan ako nagsimula sa Little Miss Philippines hanggang maging regular ako sa show noong kabataan ko,” she says. “Diyan ako lumaki at malaki ang utang na loob ko kina Bossing Vic Sotto na isinama pa ako sa ‘Okay Ka Fairy Ko’ on at later sa mga pelikula niya. Walang Aiza ngayon kung hindi dahil sa ‘Eat Bulaga’. I’m glad na naiintindihan naman ng ABS ang reason sa pagre-resign ko.”

‘Magpakailanman’ Beats ‘MMK’ in National Urban Philippines Ratings!

Last Saturday (Jan 19), GMA Network’s award-winning drama anthology “Magpakailanman,” hosted by multi-awarded TV personality Mel Tiangco, dominated its timeslot with high TV ratings as it featured the real life story of Michelle Perez, a drug addict who turned her life around. This episode was directed by Gina Alajar and written by Aloy Adlawan.

The episode entitled “Pakawalang Anghel: The Michelle Perez Story” portrayed by Joyce Ching as the youngMichelle and Ehra Madrigal as the old Michelle was undoubtedly preferred by more viewers, according to data from the industry’s widely trusted ratings service provider Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

Based on overnight household ratings data recorded in National Urban Phils for January 19, 2013, Magpakailanman scored an average household rating of 23 percent versus ABS-CBN’s Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) with 19.1 percent. In Urban Luzon, it scored 25.8 percent compared to MMK’s 16 percent while in Mega Manila, “Magpakailanman” posted an even bigger margin with 26.7 percent against MMK’s 14.5 percent.

ABS-CBN’s hit kilig-serye “Be Careful With My Heart” has recently proven its strong fan base nationwide as it conquered the noontime slot with its astonishing ratings win by scoring a national TV rating of 26.5% last Monday (January 14), beating rival GMA’s “Chef Boy Logro: Kusina Master” and “Eat Bulaga” with only 6.4% and 15.2% national TV ratings, respectively based on the data from Kantar Media.

Brillante Mendoza featured in History Channel on Jan. 14!

Cannes award-winning director Brillante Mendoza is set to appear in an episode of “Around the World with Voyager” on the History Channel this month.

“Around the World with Voyager”, which premiered last November 28, aims to trace the evolution of five Asian cities (Manila, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India and Vietnam) through the eyes of a local icon, according to the description posted on History’s website.

The show is hosted by Singapore-based Canadian photographer Scott Woodward, who travels on the John Walker & Sons Voyager yacht.

The Manila episode will be aired at 11 p.m. on January 14 (Monday), with Mendoza expected to share how he “blazed the way for other Filipino filmmakers to take the world stage.”

“For the first stop, Brillante takes Scott to the University of Santo Tomas, one of the country’s oldest institutions, where he majored in advertising. From there, Brillante launched a successful career as a production designer, working on successful commercials for famous international and homegrown brands.

But Brillante wanted something more,” the episode guide read, adding that Scott will also feature the Quiapo Church and Mendoza’s secret hideaway known as the “Secret Garden.”

Mendoza’s film entry “Thy Womb” at the recent Metro Manila Film Festival won numerous awards, including Best Director for Mendoza, Best Actress for lead star Nora Aunor, as well as Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Original Story, the Gender Sensitivity Special Award and the Gatpuno Villegas Award.

2012 was a great year for Mendoza and for his film “Thy Womb,” he and Nora Aunor won top honors at the prestigious 2012 Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA) in Brisbane, Australia. They also bagged the coveted critics award at the 69th Venice International Film Festival.

 

Luis Manzano complicates Maya-Sir Chief Love Team in ‘Be Careful with My Heart’!

Actor-host Luis Manzano is now part of ABS-CBN’s hit daytime kilig-serye “Be Careful With My Heart” topbilled by the sensational love team of Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap. Luis portrays the role of James Ventura, the vice president for flight operations of Time Airways, the company where Maya (Jodi) works as an OJT (on-the-job trainee).

“I was very ecstatic when I learned that I’ll join the show because I’m a fan of it to begin with,” said Luis who is so excited to work with Jodi again. “Jodi is really my first partner in showbiz so it’s a pleasure being able to work with her again.”

When asked whether his character is off to break the Maya-Sir Chief love team, Luis simply answered, “Le’ts wait and see! But I hope you guys enjoy my character. We are all fans of the show.”

GMA Network continues to lead rival networks in nationwide television ratings from January to November!

Broadcast giant GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) is set for a strong finish this 2012 as it continues to lead rival networks in nationwide television ratings, according to partial year data from the industry’s widely recognized ratings supplier Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.

For the period January to November 2012 (November 25 to 30 based on overnight data), GMA recorded an average total day (6 AM to 12 MN) household audience share of 34.6 percent in National Urban Philippines or NUTAM; up 3.1 points from ABS-CBN’s 31.5 percent, and up 19.6 points from TV5′s 15 percent.

GMA also scored impressive total day ratings in the viewer-rich areas of Mega Manila and Urban Luzon, where it led competition by double digits.

In Urban Luzon, which makes up 77 percent of the total urban television households in the country, GMA delivered a solid 38.4 percent total day average; 11 points higher than ABS-CBN’s 27.4 percent, and 23.9 points higher than TV5′s 14.5 percent.

GMA also came ahead of other stations in its bailiwick Mega Manila, which makes up 59.5 percent of all urban television households nationwide, with a commanding total day average of 39.4 percent. GMA was remarkably ahead of ABS-CBN’s 25.8 percent by 13.6 points, and of TV5′s 15.1 percent by 24.3 points.

During the 11-month period, GMA was also ahead of ABS-CBN and TV5 in the morning (6 AM to 12 MN) and afternoon (12 MN to 6 PM) blocks across NUTAM, Urban Luzon, and Mega Manila.

In November, GMA programs dominated the lists of top-rating programs across NUTAM, Urban Luzon, and Mega Manila. Multi-awarded news magazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho emerged as the number one program in Mega Manila scoring a 24.8 percent average household rating.

Other Kapuso shows that occupied the top slots in the lists are 24 Oras, Kapuso Movie Night Pinoy Flicks, Aso ni San Roque, Kap’s Amazing Stories, Coffee Prince, Eat Bulaga, and Pepito Manaloto, among others.

GMA subscribes to Nielsen TV Audience Measurement along with 22 other paying subscribers including another local major television network (TV5), Faulkner Media, CBN Asia, 15 advertising agencies, and 4 regional clients.

In Mega Manila, Nielsen has a sample size of 1,190 homes versus Kantar Media’s 770 homes. Nationwide, Nielsen has a sample size of 2,000 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media

“Be Careful With My Heart” extended up to mid-2013!

Actress Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap said their hit series “Be Careful With My Heart” is the best gift they’ve received this year.

“Sa totoo lang, malaking regalo na rin ang pagkakataong naibigay sa amin na maging source of inspiration ng maraming tao. Sa palagay ko, hindi lang ang audience ang nai-inspire ng mga character namin dahil kami mismo, may natututunan sa kanila,” Sta. Maria said.

On Thursday, Yap and Sta. Maria confirmed that the airing of the undisputed No. 1 daytime series will be extended until middle of 2013. The DVD of the first parts of the series will also be out in December.

“Ang success ng ‘Be Careful With My Heart’ ay talagang blessing. We are blessed to have everything feel-good in the show,” Yap said.

“At malaki talaga ang pasasalamat namin sa suporta ng fans kung kaya’t gagawin namin ang lahat ng makakaya namin para pasayahin kayo araw-araw,” he added.

Aside from high ratings, the lead stars are also thankful for having found a new family.

“Yung friendship na nabuo sa aming show, hindi na lang kami basta magkaka-trabaho, naging magkakaibigan na kaming lahat,” Sta. Maria said.

On Thursday afternoon, the cast of “Be Careful With My Heart” had a thanksgiving mass.

“We are really thankful that’s why we are holding this thanksgiving mass kasi tinangkilik pa din kami ng mga tao and they are supporting us,” Yap said.

“Siyempre nagpapasalamat sa nasa itaas kasi kung hindi dahil sa kanya ay wala ang lahat ng ito,” Sta. Maria said.

Meanwhile, when asked about their plans for Christmas, Jodi and Richard said that they will spend it with their respective families.

“Plano kong makasama nang matagal ang wife ko at mga anak ngayong Holiday season para naman makabawi ako sa mga panahon na hindi ko sila nakasama dahil sa taping schedule namin,” Yap explained.

“Magbabakasyon rin kami sa ibang bansa. ‘Yun na ang Christmas (at) New Year treat ko para sa kanila,” said Sta. Maria who will be spending the yuletide season in Thailand.

Rockoustic heartthrob Sam Milby gives an early gift this Saturday (November 17) as he teaches everyone the importance of family in the Christmas countdown special of ABS-CBN’s top-rating fantasy-drama anthology “Wansapantaym.

In the ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas’ episode, Sam will portray the role of Carl, a young man who wants to forget the memories of his family. Because of his bitterness over his past, Carl has decided to sell the house that he inherited from his parents as tries to turn his back on them. Will Carl finally learn to forgive and open his heart once again when several strangers make him realize the importance of family?

In its new 11:15am timeslot, ABS-CBN’s Primetanghali romantic-comedy TV series “Be Careful With My Heart,” topbilled by Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap, continued to reign daytime (6AM to 6PM) leadership as proven by the success of its episode on Monday (November 12).

Based on the data from Kantar Media, the kilig-serye that features the new-age fairytale romance of Maya (Jodi) and her Sir Chief (Richard) garnered a national TV rating of 25.9%, or almost 19 points higher than its rival program in GMA “Chef Boy Logro: Kusina Master,” which only got a 7.4%.

With its exceptional national TV rating, “Be Careful With My Heart” did not only score more than triple its competition but also claimed the fifth spot in the top 20 most watched programs in the country and even overthrown all of GMA primetime programs.
