In the recent birthday celebration of the Superstar Nora Aunor, courtesy of TV5 last May 21  at the Meralco Multi-purpose Hall in Ortigas, TV5 Business Unit Head JoAnn Banaga and directorJoel Lamangan announced that Nora and Tirso Cruz III also known as Guy & Pip will be reunited again in the said TV5 project.
Guy & Pip will be joined by Kapatid network’s hottest stars Marvin Agustin, Nadine Samonte, Karel Marquez, and Akihiro Blanco.

Willie Revillame will not renew “Wowowillie” contract, TV5 responds!

A few days ago rumor has it that TV5 declined to renew Willie Revillame‘s contract with them since he allegedly demanded a hefty sum of money for the renewal!

And now, Willie shoots down the rumor by saying he is no longer renewing his contract for “Wowowillie” with the Kapatid network.

This is what Willie said:

“Ang last day of my contract ay October 15. Maybe October 12 will be the last show ng Wowowillie.”

Willie said that he will be taking a break from his showbiz commitments for a few months, a year, or even longer:

“So, hindi po para malungkot. Ganyan talaga ang buhay. Kasi kailangan ko rin ng time.”

Willie also revealed that he submitted a resignation letter last May 17:

“Yun lang po para matapos na ang haka-haka.”

TV5 released the following statement on his resignation:

“We respect the decision of Mr. Willie Revillame to retire upon the expiry of his contract with TV5. We wish him well in his new pursuits.”

‘Wowowillie” is under 3-month probation by MTRCB!

Willie Revillame‘s noontime show “Wowowillie” was placed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) under a three-month probation over skimpy outfits of its dancers.

MTRCB also subjected the TV5 noontime show to a Strong Parental Guidance (SPG) classification effective immediately.

Here is the statement released by MTRCB on Monday, April 22:

 

“At today’s hearing conducted by the MTRCB’s Ad Hoc Committee on the skimpy outfits and excessive flesh exposure in Wowowillie’s 16 April 2013 & other episodes, TV5 and the said show accepted responsibility for the said lapses and apologized to the MTRCB.”

 

“The MTRCB, through the panel, ordered placing the program under probation, subjecting it to per-episode review for 3 months, and subjecting it to an SPG (Strong Parental Guidance) rating effective immediately. Tv5 and Wowowillie were further required to submit reform and self-regulatory measures by 06 May 2013.”

After establishing a name in both Kapamilya and Kapuso drama series, Eula Valdez recently turned Kapatid to star in her first fantaserye where she is required to perform action scenes and stunts.
Eula recently signed a 1-year exclusive TV5 contract and will soon hit the small tube as Eula Caballero’s mother in the upcoming supernatural drama series, “Cassandra: Warrior Angel”.
In the series, the award-winning seasoned actress portrays the role of Larissa, a mother in search of her identity and a “babaylan” (an indigenous Filipina religious leader) who has turned to the dark side.
Premieres May 6 on TV5, “Cassandra: Warrior Angel” also stars Gabby Concepcion, William Martinez, Pen Medina, Mercedes Cabral, Art Acuña, Vangie Labalan, Victor Silayan, Albie Casino and JC de Vera.

 

TV5 features Marvel Superheroes this April!

TV5 celebrates all things Marvel with a fun, fresh string of animated and live-action features starting Monday, April 15.

The Kapatid Network is sharing some of the most exciting Marvel features with Pinoy TV viewers in the lead up to the premiere of Iron Man 3.

Kids better brace for a different kind of excitement every weekday as TV5 showcases action-packed Tagalized animated movies inspired by Marvel’s best-selling books, The Ultimates. Young Kapatid viewers can look forward to watching Planet Hulk on April 16, Doctor Strange on April 17, Thor: Tales of Asgard on April 18 and Ultimate Avengers 2: Rise of the Panther on April 19. Next week, the following Marvel animated movies will also be shown on TV5: Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow (April 22), Hulk vs Thor and Wolverine (April 23) and The Invincible Iron Man (April 24). All these will air on the Kapatid Network at 9:30AM.

Those who fancy a different kind of Marvel experience should also stay tuned to TV5 as some of the world’s most popular superheroes are dropping by Sine Ko 5ingko. The Marvel movie madness at 8:00PM will surely bring out the hero in everyone—Spider-Man starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, Daredevil with Ben Affleck, and X-Men with Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry. On Friday (April 19), Peter Parker returns to battle the evil Dr. Octopus in Spider-Man 2. The adventure continues through the weekend as fans can enjoy Sine Ko 5ingko’s double- feature of Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes on Saturday at 4:30PM and Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman on Sunday at 8:30 PM.

On April 22 (Monday), the mutant crew led by Professor X returns to the Kapatid Network for X-Men 2. Viewers should also tune in on Tuesday night as brilliant billionaire Tony Stark faces a different kind of threat in Iron Man 2, in time for the Wednesday showing of the franchise’s third installment. The original green giant Incredible Hulk rampages across TV screens on Wednesday night, while Thursday will see the Fantastic Four battling an intergalactic threat in Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer. On Friday, X-Men: The Last Stand sees the conflict between mutants and humans reaching an exciting climax. On Saturday (April 27), viewers can watch Frank Castle wage his one-man war against a mob in Punisher: War Zone at 4:30PM. The two-week Marvel marathon ends with Spider-Man 3 on Sunday night at 8:30PM.
