Sarah Labhati on GMA 7: “I am not treated well and I haven’t been treated well.”!

Sarah Labhati has just revealed she will fly back to Switzerland to pursue her studies due to a “misunderstanding” with GMA management.

Sarah Labhati

GMA Network issued its official statement which reads:

“Last December, Sarah Lahbati unilaterally decided to take a leave of absence of one (1) month from GMA Network, because she said she wanted to de-stress and unwind. Because her reasons were vague, they were not accepted by management. While we understand that work in our industry can be stressful (as in any business), we believe that this is not only unavoidable in most cases, but also a part of what one does as a professional and/or performing artist.

Her leave of absence was also disapproved by management because of her pending obligations (i.e. Party Pilipinas, on-going promos and other endorsement commitments). However, on the evening of Jan 2, she tweeted that she will be going to Switzerland to study, despite the disapproval given to her last December on taking a leave. This is in violation of her contract, because she has to perform and appear in programs and events assigned to her, and make herself available to faithfully and promptly fulfill all engagements contracted for her by GMA.

At the same time, she has yet to address the issue of her walking out during taping, which caused the production team to pack-up, and incur an additional cost of 500k. She is therefore, currently under investigation and the network is still studying on what actions to take.”

This is what Sarah Labhati responded to the allegations:

Sarah Lahbati ?@SarahLahbati
I just read the official statement of Gma against me. It’s stated there that they are still investigating if I should pay500k because the taping got packed up “because of me”. I just want to make it clear that I NEVER WALKED OUT in any of my work even if they are making me work for more than 24hrs in my past show. This supposedly “walk out” incident happened during a taping of a fantasy show where I am required to show skin and wear a costume. My call time was at 5pm in Subic & I arrived at 4pm, I knew that we will be doing a lot of fight scenes that day and I wanted to be there early. When I arrived on set the producers asked me to change to my costume & do mymakeup right away because it will be my turn to shoot soon,so I did prepare and changed to my costume. After I got ready I told the PA of the show that I’m ready anytime, that’s when they told me that my scene was moved and they will shoot me right after dinner, but after dinner they decided to shoot my scene at 4am… From 5pm to about 4am I waited and did my major fight scene that finished around 5am.

GMA Artist Center decided to book me for opening of EAT BULAGA the following day which required me to be in the studio at 8am to do hair, makeup and rehearse the production number. I never walked out, I told the producers and p.a that I need to go because I still had to travel back to Manila from Subic and be at Eat Bulaga studio by 8am. I tried asking help from my handler to fix the schedule but my handler was not answering at that time. I did not leave the set, I waited for the producers to say that I can leave I had permission to leave. This is the complete truth, for the people that are saying I walked out,I didn’t, and I’m sure if you were in my position you will also talk to the producers to say that you cannot continue. I don’t know why this issue got out of hand and why Gma is all of a sudden on the offensive. All the chaos started to happen when I declined to be part of ICONS management. A top executive of the network once promised me stardom if I sign a contract with ICONS management, just because I didn’t sign this is what I get. I am not treated well and I haven’t been treated well. In layman’s term, “I’m treated like SH*T” I deserve better, I worked hard and never complained, but there’s only so much I can take from all this bullying. I don’t owe GMA any money, in fact they still owe me.

I finished filming a movie called Basement under GMA films, we started around August-early sept. We would shoot the movie for about 16 hours or more, we’ve been done since mid November, until now I still haven’t been paid not even a down payment. My mother asked my handler many times regarding the payment and until now there is no reply. There are many more incidents that I am not saying. I hope this will end soon because I am tired and stressed out from all of this. I feel like I am fighting a giant when all I’m doing is telling the truth I know that there’s a lot people out there who doesn’t understand what I’m going through… People are saying na bakit ako nagrereklamo baka lumaki na ang ulo ko at yumabang… I know my status in this industry. I’m just a rookie who loves my craft… I have been accused and mistreated. I am forced to fight back and defend myself with the truth. I know that God sees all things. This is getting out of hand. I will be quite & stay quiet. I’ve said my piece. At the end of the day, all I want is what’s best for me & GMA. Thank you to everyone who’s showing their love and support.

Aleli Arroyo VS Grace Ibuna word war in Iggy Arroyo’s wake continues in Negros!

It is a word war between the late Negros Occidental 5th District Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo‘s wife Aleli Arroyo against Arroyo’s live-in partner, Grace Ibuna at the congressman’s wake  at the St. Mary Magdalene Church in the town of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental!

Ibuna on the left side of the coffin and Alai on the right side!

Ibuna was already seated on the left side of the coffin before noon Tuesday when Aleli Arroyo, daughter Alelu and other family members arrived in the church where they were welcomed by parish priest Fr. Grego Patino. The Arroyos then sat on pews on the other side of  Iggy’s coffin.

It was the first time that Arroyo and Ibuna were seen close to each other after a public word war over Iggy’s remains. The two did not talk to each other, nor made any gesture to one another indicating their presence in the church.

“As far as I’m concerned she is not existing. In Catholicism, there is only one wife. Iisa lang po ang asawa. Di ko alam kung bakit may pinagsasabi pang iba pero sa atin, iisa lang po ang asawa,” Aleli said.

When asked how she felt about Ibuna staying near the coffin, she answered, “It doesn’t matter. I don’t really know who she is, and we do not care.”

She also commented on Ibuna’s decision to walk out of the House of Representatives session hall when Aleli was delivering a speech about the late congressman.

“She was not welcomed there. She forced herself in. It’s a public area so she can stay. We are not preventing her from coming but what she was prevented from coming in is in the family area. The family area is for the family and she is not family,” she said.

‘A time of grieving’

Aleli said they are private individuals who came to the wake to pray for her late husband. She said their visit is not meant to show who has the power and authority over Iggy’s funeral schedules and arrangement.

“Marami hong umeeksena. Hindi ho kami sanay na umeeksena. Ang gusto lang namin pagdasal ang husband ko at pasalamatan mga tao,” she said.

“Kung gusto nila anuhin yung katawan, kanila na yung katawan. Material lang ho yun. Ang ipinagdadasal namin ay yung kanyang soul. Nakahiwalay na po yun sa katawan niya,” she added.

Ibuna was quietly seated in the church pew closest to the coffin. When ask for comment, she said: “I really don’t want to comment on anything. I’m really grieving. My priority is Iggy’s peace at the moment. I would like his dignity intact for he is really a respectable man.”

“I think he deserves better and I love him unconditionally. Lulunukin ko lahat para kay Iggy. Sabihin na nila lahat gusto nila sabihin pero hindi ako papatol,” she said.

Annabelle Rama on Heart Evanglista: "Wala na kaming dapat pag-usapan pa.”!

The Angelica-Claudine: What a mess of non-sense!

When two word-warring actresses make a go at it these days, chances are you’ll find it in Twitter—and that’s exactly how this rift widened between Claudine Barretto and Angelica Panganiban.

On Aug. 4, Claudine reportedly went on Twitter to post a warning message that said in part: “Don’t mess with my family… This is not over.” While Claudine’s Twitter account has now been made private as of this writing, this message and several others before it became hot topic among showbiz reporters in the early part of August.

And though Claudine once claimed she would not name the subject of her Twitter rants, the reporters guessed that she was talking about Angelica, and apparently she did not deny this in an interview with PEP that came out on Aug. 26.

The entertainment site also noted that Claudine said it was indeed Angelica who was saying those negative things about her, including alleging that she was having an affair with a certain Martin Castro, a married man. Castro apparently is a new friend of Claudine’s husband, Raymart Santiago, and a best friend of Angelica’s boyfriend, Derek Ramsay.

Another point of contention between the two, and purportedly the source of their Tweet-war, was that Claudine got angry with Angelica when the latter badmouthed Gretchen Barretto, Claudine’s older sister, at a non-showbiz party. This, however, happened a few weeks prior to Angelica herself making a public apology to Gretchen for her own jealous Tweets stemming from La Greta’s closeness to Derek, and the latter’s remarks prior to Angelica and Derek’s vacation in South Africa.

As such, Gretchen herself has been dragged into the war brewing now between Claudine and Angelica. Gretchen, who famously made up with Angelica after her apology, apparently now considers the young actress a friend. She was then quick to deny that the rift between her sister and Angelica had anything to do with the alleged badmouthing incident.

Apparently, Gretchen doesn’t feel Claudine is defending her because she has no quarrel with Angelica anymore. She told the site, “No, no, no… that’s not true! Walang ganyang kwento na ipinagtanggol ako… ‘Yung away ni Angelica Panganiban and Claudine, wala akong kinalaman sa away na ‘yon at all…”

Gretchen added, “Iba ang away nila. Ibang level! Hindi ko kakayanin ‘yung level ng away nila! [laughs] Ang gulo no’n. Hindi ko kaya ‘yon.”

Meanwhile, Gretchen’s name isn’t the only one being dragged into the mess. Joining the fray is Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan—who oversaw the career of Claudine when she was still with ABS-CBN and now does the same for Angelica on the Kapamilya network. When Claudine apparently was interviewed by a tabloid in Davao City on Aug. 22, she said she was planning to sue Angelica for allegedly saying she’s having an affair.

Claudine reiterated her position by saying only a public apology would change her mind, but later declared it was already too late for that since several weeks had already passed.

By Aug. 24, PEP reported that Claudine was sobbing when she talked about the possible case she wanted to file, adding that Angelica had been telling their mutual friends about her alleged affair. Claudine told the site, “Pareho lang daw kaming magkapatid. Kulang na lang sabihin niyang ‘kabit.’”

To the site, she also reportedly claimed: “Gusto niyang [Angelica] sirain si Derek at si Martin. Ipinagkakalat niya na addict si Martin.”

Mr. M, as Johnny Manahan is known for, apparently gave this message to PEP: “Go Ahead. Sue, Claudine. Make our Day! Para Bellum.”

Mr. M likewise defended Angelica, reportedly calling whoever is behind the lies being spread about Angelica “a very disturbed individual.”

Calling this whole thing “nonsense,” Mr. M sent PEP this statement: “For those of us who know Angelica, well, she is feisty, irreverent, sometimes crude, but never a liar. Whoever is behind the web of lies and falsehoods being spun in print, Twitter, and other media must be a very disturbed individual. I only hope this nonsense stops before it destroys the perpetrator.”

And through all this, it is quite notable that Angelica has not even aired her side. In an update on PEP on August 27, Mr. M once again made a stunning statement via text message:

“The only reason Angelica has not come out to defend herself against Claudine’s accusations is because what she has to say would be so compelling and devastating to Claudine’s career. That is why she has chosen the path of silence. Angelica still has compassion for Claudine and rejects all the falsehoods attributed to her.”
